We are pleased to announce that All Singles Matches from the Quarterfinals to the Finals will be Chaired. For Boys/Girls 18s, Doubles Finals will also be Chaired. We have scheduled an increased level of Officiating for all other Matches of the Tournament.

INTENDED SCHEDULE OF PLAY (MAIN DRAW BG12-18)
We are excited to present the Final Matches for Junior Sectionals on Sunday, June 23. Following is the rest of the schedule for the tournament: BG18 ONLY: one main draw match per day starting on Wednesday, June 19th EXCEPT semis and finals will be played on Sunday, June 23rd. This is so we can accommodate High School graduation requests.
BG12-16: one main draw match per day starting on Wednesday, June 19th EXCEPT two main draw matches will be played on Thursday, June 20th.
*The above schedule may change at the discretion of the Tournament Referee for a cogent reason.

GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP
USTA SoCal expects all players to demonstrate good Sportsmanship, to respect the rules and policies associated with the game of Tennis, to respect all Opponents, and to play within the Code. Two USTA So Cal Sectionals Sportsmanship Winners will each receive two tickets to the BNP Paribas Open Finals on Sunday, March 22, 2020, as well as a Back of the House Tour of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

NEW CONSOLATION INFORMATION FOR 2019
Due to the historical lack of participation in the consolation draws, the USTA SoCal Junior Competition Committee has decided to eliminate consolation for the BG14-18. All 3rd/4th place playoff matches have also been eliminated for ALL divisions.
The Boys and Girls 10s and 12s Main Draw will still have a First Round Losers Consolation. PLAYERS ARE EXPECTED TO PLAY THE TOURNAMENT TO COMPLETION, INCLUDING CONSOLATION MATCHES. Consolation will consist of 2 sets and a match tie-break in lieu of a third set. Please be prepared to play more than one match per day if you are in consolation (this includes the first day of main draw).

IMPORTANT DOUBLES INFORMATION
-BOTH YOU AND YOUR DOUBLES PARTNER WILL NEED TO PAY AND REGISTER IN ORDER TO BE CONFIRMED AS A DOUBLES TEAM!- Only players registered for the 18 Singles are eligible for the 18 Doubles (ex. if you are playing the 16s, you are NOT eligible for the 18 Doubles). If you are choosing to play doubles only, you MUST be 17 or 18 years old to play the 18 Doubles.- - All Doubles matches up until the Semifinals will be an 8 game pro-set (regular scoring) with a tiebreak played at 8-8. All Semifinal and Final matches will play 2 sets with a 10-Point Match Tiebreak in lieu of a third set (regular scoring). There will be a 3 minute mandatory rest period with coaching between the second set and the Match Tie-Break. - Doubles will be Single Elimination format (no consolation) - Players need to be ready to play their doubles match before their singles match (as early as 8 AM). -Players will need to be prepared to play doubles during any of the sanctioned dates of this tournament.

If you are in the main draw of the USTA SoCal Junior Sectionals, you are not permitted to enter in any overlapping tournament that starts the weekend of June 21st (ex. Beverly Hills L4).

TOURNAMENT FORMAT (Boys and Girls 12-18 Singles)
- All matches (Qualifying & Main Draw) will play best of three tie-break sets. Players will receive a 10 minute rest period with coaching between the second and third set. - There will be an unlimited draw size in the Qualifying rounds - The Main Draw will consist of 64 players (32 players held out and 32 qualifiers who are drawn into designated lines) - The Main Draw will begin on Wednesday, June 19th

BOYS' & GIRLS' 10 SINGLES INFORMATION
- All 10s matches will be played with the Green Dot ball on a standard sizes 78' court - There is no qualifying rounds in the 10s - All matches will play a “Deciding Match Tie-Break” (first to 10) in lieu of a third set. There will be a 3 minute mandatory rest period with coaching between the second set and the Match Tie-Break - The 10s will have a First Round Losers Consolation.

SPECTATOR POLICY
(INCLUDES PARENTS, COACHES, RELATIVES, FRIENDS, ETC.) In an effort to promote an enjoyable and fair high-level junior tennis tournament, USTA SoCal will enforce a "ZERO TOLERANCE" policy on improper and inappropriate spectator and athlete behavior.
1. Any attempt by a spectator to speak to an official regarding a line call or other ruling during match play will be cause for immediate removal from the playing area and, if warranted, from the premises. 2. Any spectator behavior deemed unacceptable towards a player. other spectator or staff member will be cause for immediate removal from the playing area or the entire premises. If said behavior is directed towards a player, either before, during or after a tournament, it will result in an automatic and immediate suspension of that spectator's right to attend USTA Southern California tournaments, for a period of time to be determined by the USTA Southern California Grievance and Sportsmanship Committee. 3. Refusal to adhere to a removal request will trigger immediate enforcement of the point penalty system against the player with whom the spectator is involved (per point penalty system regulations), including possible immediate default. 4. The On-Site Official is the SOLE judge regarding unacceptable behavior.
Umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.REMOVAL IS NOT SUBJECT TO APPEAL(INCLUDES PARENTS, COACHES, RELATIVES, FRIENDS ETC.)

ELECTRONIC DEVICES PROHIBITED ON COURT
Players may not use electronic devices on court that are designed for communication (Apple Watch, cell phones, pda's, etc.) or data storage/display (pocket notebook, rolodex, word processor, etc.). Use of these devices will result in immediate code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct. (A device that is in the "ON" mode constitutes use.) Notes and printed material brought on court for reference with a player are permitted.

USTA SOCAL CLOSED TOURNAMENT
The USTA SoCal Junior Sectionals is a USTA So Cal Level 1 event as well as a USTA Level 3 event. . It is only open for entry to USTA junior members domiciled in the Southern California Section who are citizens of the United States, permanent resident aliens, diplomats, aliens with refugee status and aliens with asylee status as defined in the current Friend at Court USTA Regulations (2019: Sec IX.C.1. p. 127). USTA SoCal junior tournaments with national ranking points are closed for entry to all other USTA junior members. IF YOU ATTEND AN ACADEMY, WE MUST HAVE YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE AND PROOF OF RESIDENCY ON FILE. Please send those documents to Takamori@scta.usta.com. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO THIS. If we don't have your documents on file, we must remove you from the tournament!

USTA SOCAL DRESS CODE POLICY
The USTA SoCal Junior Sectionals and its Officials have established the following dress code for the tournament: GIRLS: No sports bras or compression garments of any kind are to be worn alone; midriff must be covered when arms are at rest, and spandex shorts or capris must be covered by additional shorts or skirt. BOYS: No cut off t-shirts, or cut off shorts. Sleeveless tennis shirts may be worn. No reference to drugs, violence, alcohol, or foul language may be depicted on player attire.
