Notes
This is a 64 draw for singles and a modified feed-in consolation
and a 32 draw for doubles that is single elimination. Wilson U.S.
Open Heavy Duty balls will be used throughout the tournament.
The Main Draw matches & 3/4 Playoffs for singles will be the
best of three tiebreak sets. The Consolation will play 2 tiebreak
sets and a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of the third set. The
Singles have a Modified Feed-In Consolation to play for the 5th
& 6th places. A Bronze draw will be created to determine the
5th & 6th place winners.
Doubles matches will be one 8-game pro-set with no-ad scoring, a
set tiebreak at 8 games all. Doubles is a single elimination
format.
If you need help obtaining a Doubles partner, please contact the
Tournament Director. The TD will contact the people you wish to
play with providing the parents agree to release their information.
Please make sure your contact information on the USTA website is
correct as that is the only way to contact you.
There is a mandatory meeting on Thursday, November 28 at
7:00 PM. It will be held in the Theatre at Midtown Athletic Club.
The deadline for deciding on your doubles partner will be at this
time. The draw for doubles will be made after this meeting.
Start times on Friday will be 8:00 AM and every other day matches
will start at 9:00 AM.. Doubles will be played first, followed by
singles.
Friday there will be 1 round of Doubles, 2 Main Draw rounds of
Singles and 1 Consolation round of Singles.
Saturday there will be 1 round of Doubles, 2 Main Draw rounds of
singles and 2 Consolation rounds of Singles.
Sunday and Monday - TBD.
Certified USTA officials will be used throughout the tournament.
Until the Quarterfinals, officials will be roving, generally one
official per four courts. From the Quarterfinals through the
Finals, officials will chair both singles and doubles. There will
also be ball kids and lines officials for both Finals.
Practice courts will be available at McFetridge Sports
Center, 3843 N. California Avenue, Chicago, IL 60618. This is about
a 10 minute drive from Midtown Athletic Club. Practice courts will
be available at no cost starting on Friday and run throughout the
tournament. Please sign up at the Front Desk at Midtown.
Practice Courts at Midtown
Starting on Friday, 8 courts are available from 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM,
prior to when matches begin. There is no charge for these courts
and are on a first come, first serve basis. Go to the Tennis Lounge
to sign up. These are for hour hour sessions, but if no one is
signed up after your half hour, you may stay on the court. You may
also have to share the court, with a maximum of four people per
court. On Saturday-Monday, 8 practice courts are available from
6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, prior to when matches start. The same procedure
for signing up will be used as described above.
At registration, please indicate the size of the player. The gift
players will receive this year (not t-shirts) runs small, so
consider that in your size selection.

PARKING: If you are staying at the Hotel at Midtown, parking in
the garage is included in your costs. If you are not staying at the
Hotel at Midtown, complimentary parking is across the street. If
you park in the garage, parking fees will be assessed.

Training for the 2018 USTA Boys' 14 National Indoor
Championships.
Concurrent Entry Into Eddie Herr ITF and National Indoor
Championships
_The Eddie Herr ITF and the National Indoor Championships have
overlapping dates, which makes them concurrent
events. Players are permitted to register for both events
(permission from both Tournament Directors is not required), but
players may NOT participate in both events.

Players who registered for and are selected for both tournaments
(qualifying or main draw) must notify the Tournament Committees of
which tournament they would like to participate in by November
15th. Players who withdraw from one event to participate in the
other after the date of November 15th , or who apply for and
receive wildcards for one of the events and then subsequently
withdraw from the other will be assessed suspension points for
withdrawing to play in another tournament. Players may not
participate in both events.

Wild cards will be decided on Friday, November 8th before
noon.
Below is a link to a Waiver and Release form that parents need
to sign and either email to marilyn.goldman@midtown.com or bring
with you to the tournament. Players will not be able to play unless
this form is signed. You will need to copy and paste the
