All singles match will play 2 out of 3 sets with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set.
All doubles matches will be a 6 game pro set.

The singles and doubles draws and times will be posted by 6 PM Wednesday, July 24. The projected schedule is doubles will start Friday at 3PM, singles at 8AM Saturday( hopefully finish doubles Saturday), and Mixed Sunday after singles.

All singles and doubles draws will be open or have no limit on the number of players accepted. Please read the doubles and mixed doubles notes below for their tentative formats. All 16 or 32 draws should finish Monday, weather permitting. We will make every effort to finish the 64 draws on Tuesday. Please make note that the main draw of 64 draws can only play one time on Sunday or the draw will get to far ahead of the consolation draw. We will in all other situations have a tentative plan to play 2 rounds of singles per day.
Doubles play will begin Friday, JULY 26 ,at 3PM, with a tentative plan to play 3 rounds. You will be permitted to play in a different age division then you are playing in singles. We will play 6 game pro sets, tie breaker at 6 all.

We cannot give out personal information. . It is your responsibility to find a partner, register on time, and make sure BOTH players have registered with their partner. I encourage everyone to use the Match Tennis App to find a partner. WE WILL EXCEPT LATE ENTRIES WITH PARTNERS OR ADD YOU TO A RANDOM PARTNER LIST IF YOU EMAIL US WITH YOUR REQUEST BY JULY 22 AT 3 PM AT ***lagoonparktennis@gmail.com***. Please do not ask to be on the Random Partner List unless you are committed to it.

The State Closed will have a mixed doubles tournament. The plan (at this time) is to play a 10 point or match tie breaker tournament on Sunday evening, July 28, after singles. The entire tournament will be played Sunday evening weather permitting. You can only register for the mixed by emailing your names, division, and USTA numbers to lagoonparktennis@gmail.com. If you do not have a mixed partner you can request a randomly drawn partner by emailing or at check in. The deadline for mixed doubles registration is Saturday, July 27 at 10 AM. This event is a lot of fun and I highly encourage you to play.

The USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of registration. The co-ed 8 and under will be played entirely between 9:00 AM and 11:30 AM Saturday morning. It is a round robin, so every player will play one round against every other player. Each round will consist of one 10 point tiebreaker, win by one. All players arrive by 8:45 and we will go over the format together.

10 and Under Orange Ball Level 1 Play is being offered in the Qualifier and it will count as an Alabama Level 2 but will not advance to a Southern Closed Event. It will also be offered at our State Closed and it will count as a Level 2.

Players entering Singles will be given preference for Doubles play. If we have extra Slots available for Doubles we may take Doubles only Players but that is only if there are extra spots after the TD mandated Doubles entry has expired only.
