GENERAL INFORMATION FOR THE TOURNAMENT - posted 5:30pm, 15 Aug
All times used in
this document, or in schedules, or for match times will be central time zone.
The location of the Yarbrough Tennis Center when using a GPS is 1717 Richland
Road, Auburn AL, and the phone number at the tennis center is 334-501-2920. Registration desk will be open starting at
4:00pm on Friday.
Players must fill out and sign a waiver during registration.
Practice
Practice on clay
courts at YTC may be scheduled for free on 16 August during open hours
(8:30am-9:00pm) before the tournament starts – sign-up to reserve a court at
the front desk, or by calling 334-501-2920. After the tournament starts practice
is only allowed on the back six outdoor hard courts at YTC as those courts are
available; sign-up at front desk. No
practice is allowed on the indoor courts.
Schedule/Inclement
Weather
The schedule for the
tournament will be posted on the tournament website. The matches for 10 and
under, and 12 and under will be scheduled on outdoor hard courts; all other
matches are scheduled on outdoor clay courts.
In the event of rain all players are asked to remain at the site, and
are to resume play as soon as the referee/tournament official directs them to
do so. If matches are rescheduled due to
weather the players will be informed by the people working the tournament desk,
and a message will be posted on the tournament website. The indoor courts may be used if there is
significant rain, and in this case an announcement will be made at the site and
this will also be posted on the tournament website. The
main location to get the latest information on tournament changes due to
weather will be the tournament website.
Meals/Food
There will be
available to all players snacks (granola bars and bananas), and water on court
and near the tournament desks. A
selection of drinks are sold for $1.00 each at the YTC desk. There will be a pizza lunch served on
Saturday at 11:00am
Scoring – Match
Formats
The scoring for all doubles matches is as noted below:
* One six (6) game set (must win by 2),
the scoring of each game is Ad.
* Seven point tie-breaker played at 6-6
in a set.
The scoring for all 12’s to 18’s singles matches is as noted
below:
* Six (6) game sets (must win by 2),
the scoring of each game is Ad.
* Seven point tie-breaker played at 6-6
in a set.
* Ten point tie-breaker played in lieu
of a third set
The scoring for all 10’s singles matches is as noted below:
* Four (4) game sets (must win by 2),
the scoring of each game is NO - Ad.
* Seven point tie-breaker played at 4-4
in a set.
* Seven point tie-breaker played in
lieu of a third set
Stringing Racquets
The stringer is Pam
Owen, and she will be available during the tournament. Racquets to be strung
should be given to the person at the desk at the clay courts building and this
person will contact Pam. Next day service is assured and in the event of an
emergency a player may request quicker turnaround. The cost per stringing is $20 with strings
provided by the player, the stringer will also have a selection of strings that
may be purchased.

An STA L-4 and an Alabama level 2 tournament.
Yarbrough Tennis Center is located at 1717 Richland Rd., Auburn
Ala. 36832, Put this address in your GPS for directions.
Will play 12's, and 10's on Hard courts , will play all others on
Clay Courts. All Matches will be at Yarbrough Tennis Center Matches
will indicate HardO for outside hard.
All Tournament Fees must be Paid at registration time.
Registration and Check-In will be at the Clay Courts (the building
that takes you to the Clay courts). Everyone MUST Register and
Check-In. Everyone Must sign a medical release at check-in
time.
Practice Courts will be on the Hard Courts Only - this is before
all matches start for the day - Before 8:00am Practice Courts will
be available.

Draw limits: B/g 12-18's limited to 32 per draw, B/G 10's limited to 16 per draw, B/G 8's limited to 8 per draw.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, August 11, 2019 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
