Texas Tier 4 SCMZ Seeding and Selection on UTR (April, July, August, and December)

Doubles seeding and selection will be generated based on the pairings' combined Singles UTR with ties being broken with the team with the highest individual's Singles UTR getting the higher spot.

UTR Selection Timing
Each player's Singles Universal Tennis Rating will be pulled from the system between 12 Noon-5PM on Wednesday, August 7th. The UTR's pulled from this time period will be used for the entire pre-tournament process including splitting, seeding, pairing doubles teams, and replacing players.

Withdrawal Penalty for Super Champ Level Tournaments
There will be no penalty for withdrawing from singles or doubles prior to Wednesday, August 14th at 12 Noon for this Super Champ Major Zone. After that time, if a player withdraws from singles and/or doubles, they will be penalized 2 suspension points for the withdrawal. This includes any withdrawals, walkovers, and retirements after Wednesday, August 14th at Noon until the end of the tournament. The maximum penalty is 2 points per tournament. You will not be penalized twice for singles and doubles withdrawals. If a player does reach the suspension threshold, they will be able to appeal any points at that time.

No Ad Now Being Played in Doubles
As of April 1st, No Ad will now be played in all Super Champ Level and Major Zone events where singles is also being played. Ad will still be played at the April Doubles Excellence and the Texas Slam semis and finals.
|
Doubles Process and Tournament Timeline
For doubles, if one player in a team withdraws, the partner will have until Wednesday, August 14th at 12 Noon to find a new partner. After Wednesday at Noon, if the remaining player is left unpaired, they will be removed from the draw. After the Noon deadline, teams will be re-seeded into draws based on the updated combined Texas Standing List ranking of the final teams. Any withdrawal made after Wednesday at Noon results in the entire team being withdrawn. The Wednesday 12 Noon deadline gives the TD time to adjust both singles and doubles draws prior to the Thursday 6:00 PM draw posting.

IMPT: Monday Withdrawal Rule Remains in Effect in 2019
In 2019, the Monday Withdrawal Rule for Super Champ Designated Tournaments will remain in effect. For this tournament, players are required to inform the tournament desk or tournament director the day before of their intent not to complete their matches on the last day of the tournament. This must occur no later than 6pm Sunday for tournaments that end on Monday, or 6pm Monday for tournaments that end on Tuesday, or within 15 minutes of completing their final match of the day (whichever is later). For this tournament, all players must inform the director by Sunday (8/18) at 6pm for Monday (8/19) matches. The tournament director will inform the opponent immediately of any withdrawals. Players who pull out after Sunday at 6pm will have their match coded as a withdrawal and will receive no points for their wins in that tournament. If a player gets injured or ill after that 6pm deadline and they think it's important to "keep their points" they (the player) will need to physically show up on Monday morning and pull out in person at the tournament desk in order to have that match coded a walkover and retain their points. This rule has to do with ranking points, not suspension points. Please see the 2 pt withdrawal rule posted above regarding withdrawals after Wednesday, August 14th at Noon.

Doubles Registration
Players may register with or without a partner. Those who register with a partner must indicate their partner through the online registration system before the entry deadline. Players will need to correctly identify their doubles partner during their initial registration process or they may go back later, prior to the entry deadline, and “Edit Registration” to indicate their partner of choice. Correct doubles registration is the player’s responsibility. Immediately after registration, players need to check the Applicant List to ensure they are registered with their partner of choice (and their partner is also registered with them). Remaining individual players will be paired up based on the order of their Singles UTRs.
