Youth Progression (for
children ages 7-10)
If this is your child’s first time playing a tournament, please
email Eva Marie McCravy (mccravy@ustageorgia.com) or Susan Pierce (pierce@ustageorgia.com)
to activate their USTA number in the Youth Progression program. For more
information about Youth Progression, visit our webpage.
New for 2019
USTA Georgia is publishing two separate standing lists for
10 and under players: Orange Ball standings and Green Ball standings. Players will receive same level points
for this tournament but will be listed in separate standing lists according to
their ball color (green ball players no longer
receive level 3 points on a level 4 or 5 tournament).
Player selection
This tournament is open for junior players regardless of
ranking. You will receive an automated email if your player is selected and
your credit card is charged.
Late Entrants
USTA Georgia will allow late entrants to be accepted into
all USTA GA tournaments in the event that the draw is not full, provided that
such late entrants do not affect the seeding and further provided that late
entrants do not prevent timely entrants to be accepted into the draw under any
circumstances. Accepting late entrants is at the discretion of the Tournament
Committee. Seeds must be posted by 12 noon following close of registration.
Once draws are posted, the tournament is closed and can no longer accept late
entries.
Draws
Draws will be published by Friday. It is your responsibility
to check this tournament webpage for the players’ draws, match times and any
other updates. Any match times
found on the Internet, outside of the First Match Time Report, are unofficial.
Official match times only may be found on the posted draw sheets at the
tournament sites. Players must check the posted draw sheets to get their match
time and the location.
Format
At the start of
the day all main draw matches will begin play with a brand new can of balls.
For consolation matches used balls will be in play. BG 12 Under will use Stage
1 or Green Dot balls. BG 10 Under will use Stage 2 or orange balls. Limited
draw of 16. This tournament offers a full feed-in consolation to the
quarterfinals. There will be a 3/4 playoff for semifinalists. Awards will be
provided for 1st through 6th place finishers. T-shirts will be provided for
each participant. Scoring format for BG 10 Under must use 2 out of 3 short sets
(sets to 4) with a 7-point tie break for the 3rd for Main Draw and Consolation.
BG 12-18--2 OUT OF 3 SETS WITH A 3RD SET MATCH TIE-BREAK. Any draw with fewer
than 6 players entered will become a round robin event. This is true even with
