For this SCMZ month, 12s through 18s Super Champ players can choose which tournament they would like to compete in. The points awarded for each draw will be the same in both the San Antonio and Houston tournaments.
Texas Tier 4 SCMZ Seeding and Selection on UTR (April, July, August, and December)
All seeding and selection will be based on Singles Universal Tennis Ratings (UTR) for the 2019 April, July, August and December Texas Tier 4 Super Champ Major Zones (SCMZ). Doubles seeding and selection will be generated based on the pairings' combined Singles UTR with ties being broken with the team with the highest individual's Singles UTR getting the higher spot.
UTR Selection Timing
Each player's Singles Universal Tennis Rating will be pulled from the system between 12 Noon-5PM on Wednesday, July 10th. The UTR's pulled from this time period will be used for the entire pre-tournament process including splitting, seeding, pairing doubles teams, and replacing players.
Withdrawal Penalty for Super Champ Level Tournaments
There will be no penalty for withdrawing from singles or doubles prior to Wednesday, July 17th at 12 Noon for this Super Champ Major Zone. After that time, if a player withdraws from singles and/or doubles, they will be penalized 2 suspension points for the withdrawal. This includes any withdrawals, walkovers, and retirements after Wednesday, July 17th at Noon until the end of the tournament. The maximum penalty is 2 points per tournament. You will not be penalized twice for singles and doubles withdrawals. If a player does reach the suspension threshold, they will be able to appeal any points at that time.
No Ad Now Being Played in Doubles
As of April 1st, No Ad will now be played in all Super Champ Level and Major Zone events where singles is also being played. Ad will still be played at the April Doubles Excellence and the Texas Slam semis and finals.
Doubles Process and Tournament Timeline
For doubles, if one player in a team withdraws, the partner will have until Wednesday, July 17th at 12 Noon to find a new partner. After Wednesday at Noon, if the remaining player is left unpaired, they will be removed from the draw. After the Noon deadline, teams will be re-seeded into draws based on the updated combined Texas Standing List ranking of the final teams. Any withdrawal made after Wednesday at Noon results in the entire team being withdrawn. The Wednesday 12 Noon deadline gives the TD time to adjust both singles and doubles draws prior to the Thursday 6:00 PM draw posting.
Players may register with or without a partner. Those who register with a partner must indicate their partner through the online registration system before the entry deadline. Players will need to correctly identify their doubles partner during their initial registration process or they may go back later, prior to the entry deadline, and “Edit Registration” to indicate their partner of choice. Correct doubles registration is the player’s responsibility. Immediately after registration, players need to check the Applicant List to ensure they are registered with their partner of choice (and their partner is also registered with them). Remaining individual players will be paired up based on the order of their Singles UTRs.

ATTENTION ALL SPECTATORS
(INCLUDES PARENTS, COACHES, RELATIVES, FRIENDS, ETC.)
In an effort to promote a more enjoyable and fair experience for all, the following policy is in immediate force and effect, and shall be diligently and stringently enforced. USTA Texas has implemented a “ZERO TOLERANCE” policy for improper behavior.
Any attempt by a spectator to speak to the official in an abusive or disrespectful manner regarding a line call or other ruling during match play shall be cause for immediate removal from the playing area and, if warranted, from the premises.
2. Any spectator behavior deemed unacceptable towards a player, other spectator or staff member shall be cause for immediate removal from the playing area or the entire premises. If said behavior is directed towards a player, either before, during or after a tournament, it shall result in an automatic and immediate suspension of that spectator’s right to attend USTA Texas tournaments, for a period of time to be determined by the USTA Texas Discipline and Grievance Committee.
3. Refusal to adhere to a removal request shall trigger immediate enforcement of the point penalty system against the player with whom the spectator is involved (per point penalty system regulations), including possible immediate default from the tournament.
4. The On-Site Official is the SOLE judge regarding unacceptable behavior.
There are no refunds for withdrawals after the entry deadline or for weather related cancellations.
Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.
Registration Confirmation: As a parent or player it is your responsibility to assure registration in the event. Regardless if you register on the website or mobile app after completing the registration you should visit the USTA web driven site and confirm your registration by finding the player in the applicants list. If you select to skip this process please be aware that should any malfunctions of the system occur, players will not be granted late entrance in the event due to a system error.
No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Monday, July 08, 2019 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
