INTRODUCTION TO THE ORGANIZATION & TOURNAMENT
On behalf of the Greater Hartford Youth Tennis Association (GHYTA) and our volunteers, we wanted to thank you for choosing to play in our event. For those of you that are familiar with the GHYTA and its history, we wanted to say thank you for your continued support. For many years, the GHYTA has held some of New England's most dynamic USTA junior events (Please check USTA New England junior tournament schedule for a list of all GHYTA tournaments in 2019). We are extremely excited about the prospectus of having all of you participating in our event and making a difference in the tennis communities of greater Hartford. As a reminder to all players, parents, coaches, and guests, that while we look forward to some exciting and competitive play, the primary reasons we get involved in such an event is to: (1) raise awareness for a good cause and (2) to allow all kids to participate in a fun and dynamic USTA sanctioned event. For this weekend, we ask all of you - kids, parents, coaches, and guests - to keep your “competitive spirit” in reasonable check and to follow the rules of the Code of Conduct that comes with any USTA New England Junior Tournament. USTA rules will be in effect at all times. Please check USTA New England Level 7 / Level 6 Rules and Regulations (whichever applies). Tennis attire and shoes will be required for all participants. Please keep school grounds and tennis courts clean. There is no rain date for the tournament. Tournament will not be cancelled. We will play things by ear this week and see how the weather plays out. Thank you again for your continued support and for choosing to participate in our event. We look forward to seeing you on the court. -Claudio Armandi, Director
