This is singles only, boys and girls 12 and boys and girls 14
through 18, held at Desert Mountain High School. First match
consolation. 2 out of 3 sets, match tie-breaker in place of a third
set.
Players will be grouped and ordered based on UTR. The 14-18s will
all be under 18s. Players will be grouped to create a more level
based play. We will try to not have a difference in ratings of 2.
for example, group A will have UTR's of 8-10, group 2 will have
ratings of 6-7.99..
Every player is guaranteed at least 2 matches, as this is a first match consolation tournament. There will be no refunds once the draw is posted!

All players are required to wear appropriate tennis attire. Cut off shorts, bare midriffs, compression shorts & tights (alone), or any other attire that is simply recreational and is not tennis oriented is not acceptable.

Tournament /Player Contact Info - Tournament directors do not have access to phone numbers and email addresses of the tournament participants UNLESS the player re-enters their contact information at time of event registration. This means that if a player does not enter their phone and email information each time they register for a tournament, the tournament director will not be able contact them for any reason, including withdrawals, defaults, byes, rain delays, etc. Your cooperation will ensure that tournaments can continue to communicate necessary information to you. OVER RULE POLICY- ONCE A PLAYER HAS BEEN OVERRULED A SECOND TIME, THEY WILL BE CAUTIONED THAT AFTER ANOTHER OVERRULE THEY WILL BE PENALIZED FOR UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT UNDER THE POINT PENALTY SYSTEM.

Matches in the main draw will be 2 out of 3 sets with a 10 - point tie - breaker used when there are split sets.
Trophies for First, Second and Third, There will be a third place match for every division.

Electronic Wearables
The use of smart watches or any electronic device that can receive electronic communication, must be in off mode and in bag unless on break between 2nd and 3rd set

THE COURTS AT DESERT MTN HIGH SCHOOL ARE LOCATED ON 124TH ST BEHIND THE SCHOOL.

WIth the possibility of extreme heat, we will try to avoid scheduling matches between 2p and 5p each day. The referee may choose to extend breaks between sets, games, etc.

Most draws will start on Friday or Saturday morning. Thursday will only be used if there is not enough room to play all matches over the weekend.

Out of town players are expected to contact the tournament director if they have travel plans that may conflict with completing the tournament. Anyone with this issue should contact the tournament director PRIOR to signing up for the tournament.

REFUND POLICY- EFFECTIVE AS OF JUNE 2017: CONSISTENT WITH THE USTA NATIONAL POLICY, PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE A REFUND IF THEY WITHDRAW ONLINE PRIOR TO THE ENTRY DEADLINE. AFTER THE DEADLINE THERE WILL BE NO REFUNDS.

Withdrawal Policy If a player withdraws or defaults from any sanctioned tournament in the Southwest Section (L3-L6), after entries close, that player will be assessed 4 suspension points unless medical documentation of the injury or illness is provided to the Tournament Director AND Southwest Section Junior Player Development Manager within 48 hours after the completion of the tournament.

Penn Championship tennis balls will be used for all 14 through 18 matches. Wilson U.S. Open Green dot will be used for 12's.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, June 16, 2019 11:59:00 PM Arizona Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
