Players may play both the April Doubles Only Champ Major Zone and the Champ Major Zone (singles).
If a player qualifies in an April Singles CMZ at the beginning of the month they will not be eligible to compete in the April Doubles CMZ. If a Challenger player qualifies for Champs in an April Challenger, they are not eligible for the Doubles CMZ. The first CMZ a player may participate in after a player has qualified is the month after qualification. Supers players cannot requalify in the Doubles CMZ if they play in the April SCMZ (Players may not compete in a CMZ and a Super Champ Designated singles event in the same month).

Doubles CMZ Timeline
The entry deadline for the CMZ Doubles is Sunday, April 14th. Players who qualify in the Singles CMZ earlier in April should withdraw from this tournament as they will not be eligible. Players will have a 24 hour grace period after entries have closed to contact the tournament director with any errors in their doubles registration. After that 24 hour grace period, if both players are not registered with each other, then they will become individually registered doubles players and be paired with another individually registered doubles player based on the order of the current Standings list. All players registered individually without a partner will be paired with another individually registered doubles player based on the order of the current Standings List, if a partner is available. DRAWS WILL BE POSTED ON WEDNESDAY, April 17TH.

Doubles Entry Information
An important change to note is the correct way to register for doubles online, which is used in the CMZ Doubles for 2019. Players may register with or without a partner. If you register with a partner you MUST indicate your partner through the online registration system before the entry deadline. Both player need to correctly identify their doubles partner during either their initial process, or by going back to the home page of the tournament after registration, prior to the entry deadline and use "Edit Registration" to "Indicate Doubles Partner" link to indicate the partner of their choice. Correct doubles registration is the player's responsibility. Immediately after registering, player need to check the Applicant List to ensure that they are registered with their partner of choice (and check to see that their partner is also registered with them.) Please email the tournament director for assistance if necessary. THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR CANNOT PAIR YOU UP IF ONLY ONE PLAYER HAS INDICATED THE PARTNER. BOTH PLAYERS MUST BE PAIRED.

Supers Re-qualification Rules
Super Champ players looking to re-qualify can do so by singing up for one of the singles CMZs or the Doubles CMZ, but cannot play in the singles division of the Super Champ Level in April in addition to a CMZ.

Players and Partners
Players do not have to sign up as teams in order to play in the CMZ Doubles. Players who do not have a partner listed, or who are not properly paired up with their partner will be put in a player pool. Players will then be matched up by their positions on the CMZ standing list, so the two highest ranked players will be paired first, and then the next two, until everyone has been paired up. In the case of an uneven number of players, that player can be available to replace a player who withdraws, or they can choose to pair up with a player in the other CMZ Doubles Tournament in Spring, TX if there is an odd number in that draw.

How is Seeding Determined?
The seeding for doubles is based on the current Champs Standing List (rank position, not points) in each age group. The standing of both players were combined to create a team ranking. For example, if one player is #4 on the standing list and another player is #28, their combined ranking is 32. Teams are placed in order based on this combined ranking. The lower the total ranking, the higher the seeding.Ties are broken by having the highest ranked individual player's team receiving the higher seed.

First-off Consolation – All Challengers and CMZs use the First Off Consolation Format. This format will show as Single Elimination on the tournament homepage, but all players are guaranteed two matches. This format eliminates “maybe matches” and almost every player in consolation will play their first consolation match on Saturday. How does it work? Players that lose in the main draw will be fed into the consolation draw in the order that they come off the court (i.e. the first player to come off the court will go on line one, the sixth player to come off the court will go on line six). This new format ensures more players playing on Saturday and an overall better tournament.

Excessive Overrule Guideline: The USTA Texas Officials Committee along with the Competitive Department has established a guideline in reference to excessive overrules as clarified in the Friend at Court. This guideline states "Once a player has been overruled for a second time in a match, they will be cautioned that after another overrule, they will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct under the point penalty system."

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.

USTA Texas "No Late Entries" Policy for Juniors Due to a new USTA Texas internal procedure, junior division players will NOT be able to register for a tournament after the online published deadline. Regardless if you register on the website or mobile app after completing the registration you should visit the USTA web driven site and confirm your registration by finding the player in the applicants list. If you select to skip this process please be aware that should any malfunctions of the system occur, players will not be granted late entrance in the event due to a system error.
