ATA College Prep Holiday Open (Jr)

The courts are drying slowly. We are hoping to get started by 10:30. Format will be adjusted to try to catch up. Please check your draw for an updated schedule (most match times have not changed since the last update). No further updates unless we are delayed further. All players (Singles and Doubles) should continue to check their draws for any changes. Due to the weather delays the following format changes will be in effect:
Doubles - 12's-18's doubles will play one set to 6 games, no-ad scoring
Singles - 12's-18's singles will play short sets to 4, ad-scoring in the first round of main draw and all consolation matches today. The remaining main draw matches today will be full sets, ad-scoring with a 10 point match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set.
10's format will remain the same.
Format may be adjusted further due to additional weather delays.

ATA is located .2 miles west from the intersection of Hwy 620 and Hwy 71W. Look for the McCoy's Building Supply sign on your right and get in the left hand lane, make a left at the windmill into Spanish Oaks, go to the second round about and we are on your left. The 2019 Medical and Media Waiver/Release form is available using the link below. This form must be completed, once per calendar year, by every player prior to participating in their first event of that year. Failure to complete this form prior to the event will make the player INELIGIBLE for that event. more info

If you are unavailable to play Friday evening or can't make it to Austin by 5 PM Friday, please do not enter doubles.

10 & Under Regulation - Junior Other Tournaments All junior other sanctioned tournaments offer 10 & Under Orange Ball Division (orange ball, 60 foot court and 25 inch racquet) and 10 & Under Green Ball Division (green dot ball, 78 foot court and 27 inch racquet). Please register for the correct division based upon age, Challenger tournament credit / wins, etc. All tournament entries are verified by the section office. DIVISIONS OF PLAY - Qualified division is for champ and superchamp level players only. All other players should enter the Non-Qualified division including all ZAT level players. All doubles events are Open (meaning any level player who is age eligible may enter - all levels are combined).

WITHDRAWALS - Please click on edit registration on the left side of this homepage and follow the directions to withdraw before the deadline. Please email me at john.kudrick@clubcorp.com if you need to withdraw from the tournament after the deadline. Include your name, division and reason for withdrawing. Written notification (email is sufficient) is required for withdrawals after the entry deadline as per USTA rules. There are no refunds for withdrawals after the entry deadline or for weather related cancellations.

CHECK IN PROCEDURE - Please register at your playing site 15-30 minutes before your first match. You will then also need to check in for each of your matches (including your first match) when you are ready to play (before your scheduled time, of course) and stay within earshot of the tournament desk.

B&G 8&U Red Ball Tournament FROM 5:00-7:00 PM FRIDAY EVENING AT ATA. Play will be on a 36 ft court with red balls. ALL PLAYERS SHOULD CHECK IN BY 4:45. Email John Schoenmakers at john.schoenmakers@austintennisacademy.com to enter or if you have any questions.

BALL TYPE - Wilson US Open Extra Duty Felt balls will be used for all matches (12's - 18's).

Court Surface - All matches will be played on hard courts

ELIGIBILITY - Out of section residents and foreign players MUST be approved by the USTA Texas Section office to compete in TX Section tournaments. You must fill out an Out-of-Section Application. Please contact Sylvia Krywacz at skrywacz@texas.usta.com with any questions or for an application.

WEATHER UPDATES - We will do everything we can to complete the tournament even if we have inclement weather. The Austin weather can change very quickly. If necessary, we will go to alternate scoring to speed up the matches. This website will be updated with any weather related delays or you may call ATA at 512-276-2271 during the tournament for weather related updates. AIRPORT - The Austin Bergstrom Int'l Airport is approx 45-60 min. from the Austin Tennis Academy. The ATA is in southwest Austin. Go west on Hwy 71W for approximately 22 miles, Hwy 71W is called US 290W for a few miles, follow signs to Hwy 71W. When you get to the light at Hwy 620, get into left lane, turn left into Spanish Oaks across from McCoys.

Seeding - The "All Factors" Method will be used for seeding all ATA CP Opens. Texas Section standing will be the first criteria, however, other criteria, including national standing and rating may be used to determine seeding (mainly used for out-of-section players and players playing outside of their natural age division).

Large Draws will be split - Any Qualified Division with more than 32 entrants will be divided into a champ division and a superchamp division.

Excessive Overrule Guideline: The USTA Texas Officials Committee along with the Competitive Department has established a guideline in reference to excessive overrules as clarified in the Friend at Court. This guideline states "Once a player has been overruled for a second time in a match, they will be cautioned that after another overrule, they will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct under the point penalty system."

USTA Texas "No Late Entries" Policy for Juniors Due to a new USTA Texas internal procedure, junior division players will NOT be able to register for a tournament after the online published deadline. We are aware that currently parents reach out via email or phone to the USTA Texas staff and/or tournament director requesting to be manually added to the tournament after online registration has closed. If a player misses the registration deadline, then he/she will not be permitted to participate in that tournament

Registration Confirmation: As a parent or player it is your responsibility to assure registration in the event. Regardless if you register on the website or mobile app after completing the registration you should visit the USTA web driven site and confirm your registration by finding the player in the applicants list. If you select to skip this process please be aware that should any malfunctions of the system occur, players will not be granted late entrance in the event due to a system error.
