CAPTAIN'S DUTIES
The captain's duties are including (but not limited to) the following: *Being the liaison between the tournament staff and players on your team before and during the tournament *Communicating all important info from the tournament to your team *Attending the captain's meeting at 8:30 AM on your tournament date (NO PARENTS PLEASE! You are old enough to handle this on your own) *Making sure to take a team photo before start of play on day of tournament *Submitting team lineups 15 minutes prior to each round *Keeping track of the matches you and your team mates have played (refer to "Match Rules" above) *Making sure your players display great sportsmanship throughout the event

DESIGNATED COACHES
The Captain plus ONE additional member of the team may act as the coach during the event. Please let Ai know upon check-in.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Compass
Draw format (1st through 8th place finish). Each team is guaranteed to play 3 rounds (each round includes BG Singles, BG Doubles, and Mixed Doubles).

INTENDED SCHEDULE OF PLAY (This may change if matches run long)
8:00 AM: Courts available for warm-up (one warm-up court per team) 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM: Team Pictures (Please make sure to take a picture once your entire team arrives) 8:30 AM: Captain's Meeting (NO PARENTS PLEASE) - Draw will be made at this time. All players should have arrived by this time for warm up. 9:00 AM: Round 1 (Mixed, then Gender Doubles, then Singles) 11:15 AM: Round 2 (Mixed, then Gender Doubles, then Singles) Start lunch during Mixed Doubles (sandwiches provided for players) 3:00 PM: Round 3 (Mixed, then Gender Doubles, then Singles) PLAYERS MAY NOT LEAVE UNTIL THEIR LAST TEAM MATCH IS FINISHED!

MATCH FORMAT
World Team Tennis format (Boys Doubles,
Girls Doubles, Boys Singles, Girls Singles, Mixed Doubles). The team that wins
3 out of 5 matches will be declared the winner of that team match.
Singles: 8 game pro-set, tiebreak at 7-7, regular scoring
Doubles: 6 game set, tiebreak at 5-5,
no-ad scoring (receiver’s choice)
Mixed: 6 game set, tiebreak at 5-5, no-ad
scoring (serve gender to gender)

MATCH RULES
- Everyone must
play at least one singles match during the tournament - Teams with 2 Boys
and/or 2 Girls o
Each player may
play a MAXIMUM of 2 events per round (singles and gender doubles, gender
doubles and mixed) - Teams with 3 Boys
and/or 3 Girls o
Each player may
play a MAXIMUM of 2 events per round o
Each player must
play at least one event per match (i.e. one player cannot sit out in a round
unless they've withdrawn from the tournament) o
The Mixed Doubles
player(s) must also play Singles or Doubles (their only event for that match
can’t be just mixed doubles) - Team lineups must
be submitted 15 minutes prior to the start of each round o
Teams may
substitute only if that match hasn’t started yet and if the withdrawing player
has withdrawn from the entire tournament

SEEDING
Seeding will be based on the average UTR of the top 2 boys and top 2 girls on each team. There will be 4 teams seeded.

RANKING POINTS
Bonus points will be added to a player’s
singles record for 1st through 7th place finish. Players
will also earn 100 points for each individual match won for the event played. If
a player withdraws at any point during the tournament, they will be forfeiting
their bonus points.
Bonus Points for Team Finish (in addition to points
earned for individual match wins) 1st Place:
400 points 2nd Place: 300
points 3rd Place: 250 points 4th Place: 200 points
5th Place: 150 points 6th Place: 100 points 7th Place: 50 points 8th Place: 0 points

LUNCH PROVIDED
Lunch will be provided for players during this tournament.

Each player will receive a tournament t-shirt. Please coordinate with your team if you would like to wear matching outfits.

BALL TYPE
The ProPenn Marathon ball will be used throughout this tournament.

WELCOME!
Welcome to the 2nd Annual SCTA Friendship Team Cup event. This tournament is an exciting, fun, and innovative ONE DAY Level 3 18s and 16s team tournament where
players can make up their own teams with their friends! This is a great warmup for Junior
Sectionals and a fun opportunity for players to play with their friends!

TEAM COMPOSITION
Each team will consist of a minimum of 2
boys and 2 girls (maximum 3 boys and 3 girls; 2 boys and 3 girls and vice versa is okay). Players will be responsible
for coming up with their own teams. The SCTA will not place players on teams. Players are permitted to only enter with one team. See info below about entering in two divisions.

ONE DAY TOURNAMENT
-16s will play on Saturday, June 8th -18s will play in Sunday, June 9th
|
SELECTION PROCESS
6 teams will be accepted into each
division based on section ranking of the top 2 boys and top 2 girls on their
team along with 2 wild card teams to be determined by the tournament committee. All selection will be based on natural division ranking (no designated aging up spots).

TEAM EVENT
Because this is a team tournament, players are EXPECTED to stay until their last match finishes. Awards will be given to all participants.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, May 29, 2019 11:59:00 PM Pacific Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
