WEATHER/PLAY UPDATE 6:30 AM EMAIL 9/22
The courts at both outdoor facilities are wet and unplayable. There is a system of storms this morning, and they are expecting another system mid afternoon. Boys: Report to OU regardless of weather at your scheduled match time. Indoor courts are available. Any changes to singles times will be given to you directly by the site director. Girls: We are going to bring the girls up to Edmond for indoor/outdoor play today. All doubles matches report to Oak Tree Country Club, 700 Country Club Dr., Edmond, OK 73025no later than 1 hour past your scheduled doubles time. $10 court fee for indoor singles matches (doubles are included in that fee). It is going to be a very long day today - please check in early for your doubles if possible. If the rain stops, we will have outdoor options in Edmond utilizing Oak Tree's outdoor courts, and possibly Kickingbird Tennis Center. I know this is not ideal being away from your hotel, but our concern is that if we do not move immediately with the limited indoor courts today, we will not be able to finish.

9/21 8 pm Weather/Play Information
Thank you for your patience today as we did our best guesswork as meteorologists and tried to get all the play in. If you wake up to inclement weather, please check the tournament homepage and your email for more information. This morning our informational email went out about 6:30 am and you can expect similar timing. BOYS: The boys have both outdoor and indoor availability at OU tomorrow so please report as scheduled regardless of the weather. GIRLS: If we have significant weather conditions, we will move indoors. Lifetime will be hosting the BG18 tomorrow, but we have another indoor complex in Edmond: Oak Tree Country Club, 700 Country Club Dr. Edmond, OK 73025. Due to the drive time, we will not make the decision to go indoors lightly and travel time will be added to the first start times of the day if we do move indoors. The Dominant Duo has always been intended to be a 2 day event and we will do everything within our control to get all play completed on Sunday. However, the national office did add Monday to the sanction period in case we are unable with our resources available to finish play on Sunday. We will only use Monday if absolutely necessary.

Play Information/Weather Email sent 6:25 am 9/21
The courts are currently wet at the facilities. However, staff is headed in to start drying those. Any help is appreciated. We only need 4 dry courts at each location to play the first doubles. We will attempt to start play at 8 am with hopes that the storm heading our way moves more north or dissipates some. Different weather stations this morning have predicted different things for the lower area of the metro.
We do have some indoor courts as backup today, but obviously those numbers are quite limited compared to the number of outdoor courts we have scheduled. We will need outdoor play in order to complete all of today's matches so we are going to make every effort to play outdoors and waste no hours. Indoor court play will be an additional $10/match (cash) - to cover the indoor facilities who have graciously offered to help the tournament.
Information will be posted on the tournament homepage regarding any delays. If we are able, we will send an email too. However, it is the player's responsibility to check the tournament homepage for the updates.

Email Re: Selections 8/23 7:15 pm
We have processed the selections for the Dominant Duo in Norman. Most likely you received an email that said you were selected for singles and on the alternate list for doubles. This is ok. Your selection was only processed for one event - singles or doubles - and if you signed up for more than one event the other one was not selected. Since the Dominant Duo is a team event, the teams are put in manually instead of through the selection program. If you received an email that said you were selected for singles or that you were selected for doubles, you and your partner are confirmed in the event. We will be posting competitor lists and alternates lists online shortly. Due to the nature of the event, these must be done manually.
Hope this clarifies any confusion with the computer automated emails you just received. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me.

FORMAT
Each team will have a #1 singles player and a #2 singles player determined based on their standing on the National Singles Standing list used for selection. In a compass draw by teams, each team match consists of a #1 singles match, #2 singles match, and a doubles match. The team that wins 2 out of the 3 matches wins the team match. After each team match, the teams move to a different part of the compass draw depending on the team result. Please note, players earn points based on individual wins and not team wins. Even if a team does not advance in the draw, players receive credit for any individual matches won. Each team will be guaranteed four team matches, unless the draw is not full for reasons such as teams withdrawing due to injury, illness, or personal circumstance.
|
SCORING FORMAT
Singles: 2 out of 3 with match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set. Doubles: 6-game set, no ad.
|
VERY IMPORTANT - REGISTRATION
Players must register as a team! You cannot register as an individual and be paired up. You must indicate who your doubles partner will be. To register, each player must sign up for doubles with a partner online. When signing up for doubles, BOTH players must list each other as partners.
|
POINTS
Each team will have 2 singles players. The highest ranked player of the team plays in the #1 spot, the other player plays in the #2 spot. Each win at the #1 singles spot will receive 100 points. The #2 singles spot will receive 85 points for each win. Doubles will be a percentage of 100 points as normal.
