We at Utah Tennis Association are excited to once again have the opportunity to host the USTA Boys' and Girls' 16 Zone Team Championships! This will be our 23rd year of running this Terrific Tournament, and it is my favorite!

HOST HOTEL RESERVATIONS
The tournament host hotel is the Salt Lake City Marriott University Park The Salt Lake City Marriott University park is located at 480 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, UT 84108. This hotel is close to both of the tournament sites. Registration day activities and Movie Night will be held at this hotel. This hotel has been newly renovated, has an indoor pool, hot tub, new fitness center, 2 restaurants, room service and a full service Starbucks. There is a complimentary 2 mile local shuttle, free parking and a business center. Room rates are $130.00 + taxes per night for a double/double. Rooms will also be available for reservations up to 3 days prior and 3 days after the tournament at the same rate, based on availability. The deadline to register and receive this rate is June 24, 2019. IT WILL BE HOT! START HYDRATING AT HOME 48 HOURS BEFORE YOU TRAVEL TO SALT LAKE CITY!
Please bring sunscreen (sunscreen will also be available at the Tournament Desk), and anything else that you might need to prevent too much sun. A water jug, white hat, extra white shirts and a towel are suggested.

DRESS CODE
All tennis players will be required to wear appropriate tennis attire and dress in a manner of the expectations for a participant in the USTA Boys' and Girls' 16 Zone Team Championships, as well as the facilities expectations. Guys - no tank tops or very low riding shorts. Ladies - top and skirt must touch when standing. Cut off shorts, bare midriffs, compression shorts and tights (alone) or any other attire that is simply recreational and not tennis oriented is not acceptable. Questionable attire is subject to the Site Director's discretion.

DEPARTURE TIME
TO ALLOW TIME TO GET TO THE AIRPORT, PLEASE SCHEDULE YOUR DEPARTURE FLIGHT FOR 4:00 PM OR LATER. The last matches on Monday are scheduled for 1:30 pm. It will take you approximately 25 minutes to get to the airport, plus add AT LEAST one hour to go through check-in and security.

TRAINER
A Trainer will be available on site at the Eccles Tennis Center and at Liberty Park 1/2 hour before matches start until 1/2 hour after matches are completed each day of play.

MATCH FORMAT
Round Robin format. Each team will consist of 6 boys and 6 girls. There will be two flights of six teams each. NEW SCORING FORMAT THIS YEAR - Singles matches will be best of 3 tiebreak sets with a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set. Doubles matches will be an 8-game pro set with a 7-point tiebreak at 7-games all, no-ad scoring. Singles matches will count one point each. Doubles matches will count one point each. Each mixed doubles match will count one point.t for the team score, but not for ranking. Each team match consists of 18 points (12 singles plus 6 doubles). In the case of a 9-9 tie, the coach of each tied team shall designate one boy and one girl from their team to play a mixed doubles 10-Point Match Tiebreak to determine the Team Match Winner.

OFFICIATING
Play will be subject to the rules of the USTA. The USTA Point Penalty System will be enforced throughout this tournament. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated. A USTA Certified Referee and Certified Umpires will be present at both playing locations.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Saturday, March 30, 2019 11:59:00 AM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
