MATCH START TIMES: will be published by Wednesday, June 6th
at 5pm.
PLAYER SEEDING: Seeding will be done using the most current
USTA/Midwest Section Standing List published at the time of
tournament deadline.
FORMAT: Both Main and Consolation draws will be 2 out of 3
sets, regular scoring, with a 10-point tie break for the third
set.
3-minute break between the second and third sets, players may
receive coaching.
It is the player's responsibility to obtain his/her match
times.
Players should check in with the tournament desk 15 minutes prior
to match time.
This tournament is open to Wisconsin District residents only.

No Exemptions will be made:
1) No medical exemptions allowed.
2) No exemptions will be made for any/all sporting events,
including the boys high school state tournament. Please note that
B16s and B18s matches do not start until Sunday.
3) No special requests for ACT/SAT testing.

ENDORSEMENT INTO THE USTA MIDWEST L1 CLOSED
CHAMPIONSHIPS:
What does endorsement into the USTA Midwest L1 Closed
Championships mean?
The USTA District of Wisconsin will endorse 14 players for the
following age groups: B12s, B14s, B16s and B18s, and 4 players for
B10s, for guaranteed entry to play in the Midwest L1 Closed
Championship.
- Players must play the same age group in both tournaments.
- Players must play and complete the WI Qualifier tournament to
receive an endorsement.
- No match (including any FIC matches) may end in retirement,
walkover or default.
Who will earn the 14 Endorsed Quota Spots in the B12s, B14s,
B16s and B18s?
Main Draw: 8 Quarter-finalists
Consolation Draw: Quarter-finalists match winners (4),
and the 2 highest ranked players of the 4 match
losers.
- Any endorsed players not able to play in the Midwest
L1 Closed Championships will have their spot forfeited and added to
the alternate pool. We can not replace this player with other
Wisconsin player that didn't reach the endorsement line.
B10s: Wisconsin will endorse 4 players in the
B10's.
Who will earn these endorsement spots?
Main Draw: 4 Semi-finalists
The B10's tournament will be in Indiana in July.
- There will be no Appeal Process for 2018.

What is an ALTERNATE?
All players who play and complete the Wisconsin District Qualifier
tournament but did NOT reach the "endorsement spots" will be
submitted as alternates into the Midwest L1 Closed Championships.
USTA Midwest compiles a list of all alternates, from all
districts, and places them on one list in order of their
standing position (ranking).

Wildcard entries into the USTA/MIDWEST CLOSED OUTDOOR
CHAMPIONSHIPS
The USTA Midwest Section will allow a wildcard entry of any player
meeting the following criteria:
In order to be considered for a wild card entry to the USTA/Midwest
Section Closed Junior Outdoor Championships, a player must satisfy
the following:
• Be competing in the main draw of any ATP/WTA pro event that
precludes playing in their District Qualifier prior to the
USTA/Midwest Closed Junior Outdoor Championships; or
• Be invited by the USTA Player Development Headquarters to compete
in an International Tennis Federation (ITF) Tournament that
precludes playing in their District Qualifier prior to the
USTA/Midwest Closed Junior Outdoor Championships; and
• The player must appear in the top 100 of the most current
USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the age division seeking the
wild card entry.
