Working on Scheduling for the second weekend now. It will be posted by May 1, 2018, in the evening.
Please note that the schedule will be posted by tomorrow evening. I forgot to pull the schedule down while I was working on it today - so please know that any times that may have been up today may not be the final times. The schedule is being reviewed now by the tournament committee.

Draws and Schedules for the first weekend are posted!
Please review your draw and schedule carefully! Please check-in to the tournament desk before each of your scheduled match times. You should be dressed and ready for play when you check-in. Lateness penalties will apply; so please allow yourself enough time to drive safely into Sacramento. Remember that traffic in the Sacramento area can be quite harsh, and I-80 will sometimes be quite congested.
If you have to withdraw for any reason, please make sure that you notify the tournament referee and director by email. You must provide an excuse or the withdrawal will be treated as a default with associated suspension points. Phone call excuses will not be accepted. Please give the courtesy if you know that you cannot come to play to notify us so that we can notify your opponent in a timely fashion. Withdrawals that occur very close to the match time and do not allow enough time for you to travel in to the site may be treated as unsportsmanlike behavior - in other words, if you know you are sick or injured and are not planning to play, do not wait until just before your match time to notify us. Your opponent might be travelling from quite a distance to play in one match that day that will not happen.

Selections for the Rio del Oro Championships
We will be doing the selections for the singles main draw before this Friday. NorCal has asked us to use the new selection list which will come out later this week. Please note that we will be doing the singles selections first. The doubles selections will be done after the singles selections and will only include those players who are in the singles main draw. Please note that sometimes the doubles may be manually done after entries are downloaded if the draw is very full and there are many alternates in the doubles. Please note that credit cards are not charged unless the player is selected to play in the tournament. If the player is an alternate, then the card is not charged.
If you are only playing doubles, please let the tournament director and the referee know now so that we enter you into the doubles if there is room.
This tournament is a flat fee for singles, doubles, or singles and doubles.
There are no refunds given after Saturday, April 21st, at 11:59 PM.

SAT Avoidance Requests for May 5th
Please note that if you are taking the SAT on May 5th, you may request an avoidance. As long as something does not intervene that we cannot control (like inclement weather) we will honor the requests for singles as long as the following conditions are met:
Submission of SAT/ACT Avoidance Requests for NorCal Tournaments that Count for National Junior Ranking (Sectional Championships and Excellence Tournaments): No later than the time entries close (April 16th), a player may submit an SAT/ACT Avoidance Request when a test date overlaps with a USTA NorCal sanctioned junior tournament that counts for National Junior Ranking (Sectional Championships and Excellence Tournaments). The request must be in writing to the Tournament Director/Referee and must include: • the test date, • the city in which the test is being taken, • the requested match start time, which time shall be 3:30 pm or earlier; and • if required by the Tournament Committee, proof of registration for the SAT and/or ACT. This tournament will require proof of registration to be emailed into the TD/referee.

Doubles information
Please note that singles are selected FIRST. No doubles are selected initially - so please expect to get a doubles non-acceptance note initially. Only after the singles selections are made and downloaded can the doubles pairings be done. Players in the main draw singles have first priority to play in the doubles. If they have paired up with another partner in the singles main draw, then those two players will be put together into the main draw doubles. If their partner was not selected into main draw singles, then only the player who made it into the main draw singles will be listed UNLESS we have room in the doubles draw AND the partner indicates to the TD and referee that they are willing to play doubles only, if they do not get into the singles main draw. If a player only wishes to play doubles, he/she must let the referee and TD know so that they can be entered into the doubles if there is space available. Remember you must enter doubles and singles in the same age division - no cross-overs will be accepted.
Again please note that those players who are not paired up by Sunday, April 22nd, 11:59 PM, will be removed from the doubles draw. The tournament will not randomly pair up players to play doubles at this event.
Please note that we do not know who will be in the singles main draw necessarily until the selections are done. We ask that players refrain from asking us for help in pairings until after singles selections are completed for this reason.

BG12 events are SE, not FMLC, as posted in the notes and information below for all players.

Information for all players!
Welcome to the Rio del Oro Championships. This event will be played over two weekends - April 28-29 and May 5-6. Both singles and doubles will be offered. For the BG12-18, all singles and doubles matches will be single elimination (no consolation offered) except for the 3/4 playoff.
The singles draw will be limited to the top 48 players selected from the most recently published Combined Sectional Final Ranking list at the time of entry closure. Those not initially selected will become alternates for that division and will be ordered by the same selection list. The doubles draw will be limited to the top 24 teams. Players MUST enter singles and doubles in the same age division.
Match formats: BG14-18 singles - best of three tiebreak sets with a 3/4 playoff BG12 singles - best of three tiebreak sets with a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of the third set with a 3/4 playoff All doubles will be single elimination with the best of an 8-game proset and a 7-point set tiebreak at 8-games all. A 3/4 playoff will be held. Please enter doubles at the same age division as you enter singles.
DOUBLES - please note that players will need to be paired up with a doubles partner by Sunday, April 22nd at 11:59 PM. Players who are not paired up by this deadline will be removed from the doubles draw. The tournament committee will not randomly pair players.
ALWAYS check the applicant's list to make sure you entered the correct events - we always have someone who enters doubles and forgets to enter singles. ALWAYS check the competitor's list when available to ensure that you are properly entered into the events that you wish to play and that you have the correct doubles partner if you are playing doubles.
Please note that NorCal has implemented a Zero-Tolerance Policy for Junior Tournaments. Players should be familiar with the Point Penalty System. Spectators should be aware that unsportsmanlike behavior by a spectator could result in dismissal from the site and possible assessment of penalties to your player.
