Welcome to the 9th Annual Newport Beach ITF tournament (formerly Claremont ITF), ITF Grade 4 and USTA Level 3 tournament. We look forward to you possibly participating. Please scroll down for important tournament information. The Tournament Committee encourages all potential applicants to read carefully all the information, as there are differences in ITF Junior Circuit tournaments and USTA national/section events that you need to familiarize yourself with, including entry methods, deadlines, acceptance procedures, etc...

New for 2018...For all singles and doubles matches, the No Service Let Rule shall be in effect. If you call a let by mistake, you will automatically lose the point.

All matches will be played at The Tennis Club at Newport Beach Country Club (1602 East Coast Hwy, Newport Beach, CA 92660). NO OUTSIDE FOOD WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE CLUB (DRINKS AND FRUIT OKAY). more info

Please read pages 46-49 (under Dress & Equipment) of the 2018 ITF Junior Circuit Regulations for the complete ITF clothing regulations. These regulations will be strictly enforced. more info

All rules and regulations of the ITF Junior Circuit, the Junior Circuit Code of Conduct, and the Rules of Tennis adopted by the ITF will be used at this event. Default will be declared for players not present 15 minutes after a match is called. Proper tennis attire is required (such as collared shirt and tennis shorts or skirt) for all participants. No T-shirts, sweatshirts, or gym shorts will be allowed on the court.

There will be at least four practice courts available at The Tennis Club at all times during the tournament. Practice Courts will be available on a first come first serve basis (no sign up). There are also numerous public courts available. Please click on the link for tennis courts near The Tennis Club (some public, some may charge a fee).

All matches will be played at The Tennis Club. In case of inclement weather, Sunday, March 25th may be used.

Players who are on the Newport Beach Main Draw acceptance list, will NOT be selected for the March Level 3. However, players who are in the qualifying may be accepted into the March Level 3. If those qualifying players advance into the main draw of the Newport Beach ITF, those players must withdraw by Monday, March 19th.

This is an ITF Grade 4 and USTA Level 3 event (main draw only). For Southern California ranking purposes, this is a Level 2 event (main draw only).

This tournament will be played under the regulations of the ITF junior circuit. One difference between ITF and USTA regulations is that the 18's divisions DO NOT have a 10 minute break between second and third sets in ITF events. Players, please be aware of this rule difference.

As in all ITF junior circuit events:
* All singles matches (qualifying & main draw) will be the best of three (3) tie-break sets. Regular scoring will be used. * All doubles matches will be the best of three (3) tie-break sets, with a Deciding Match Tie-Break (first to 10) played in lieu of a third set. No-ad scoring will be used for all ITF doubles matches
