Dear 2018 Husband Wife Players:
Thank you for playing the USTA National Husband Wife Hard Court Championships. This tournament was first introduced to the Lake Tahoe (Zephyr Cove Tennis Club) location last year. This year, 2018, showed the tournament growing and the number of entries dramatically increasing, allowing us to continue our efforts to make this a successful and established destination for a National event. It was very rewarding to watch the teams interacting and getting to know each other. It appeared that many new friendships developed between the players and spectators throughout the week.
We offer our sincere thanks to the Zephyr Cove Tennis Club for being the host site for the tournament and to the ZCTC members for giving up their courts. Many thanks also, to all of the incredible volunteers that helped with the lunch each day, and for the set up and take down and other duties involved with this event. (Judy McLennan, Jenny Bentley, Joyce Youngs, Bob Beut, Ross Rittiman, Diane Baker Roberts, Jan Nelson, Kari Beronio & David Beronio). Thank you to the ZCTC pro, Dave Norstrant, for having the courts clean and ready for play each morning. Thank you also to Tom & Doreen Andriacchi for creating the player info booklet.
Congratulations to Robin Dierenfield, Kay Beverly & David Hodges for being the lucky winners of the 2019 BNP Paribas Open tickets in Indian Wells, CA.
Once again, thank you, players for entering the event, and thank you to the family members, friends & spectators that came out to cheer and support their favorite teams. The over all camaraderie and sportsmanship exhibited though out the week was impressive. Qualities that definitely contribute to the success of the event. Our hope is that everyone always feels welcome and comfortable to be a part of this tournament.
