THQ Inclement Weather Plan for 2018
It is our objective to complete all rounds of this
tournament as scheduled. In the event of
inclement weather, the THQ Tournament Committee in consult with NCTA, will
consider implementation of the following guidelines, including but not limited
to these listed below, from 2018 Friend At Court (FAC):**** 1. No-Ad Scoring as deemed appropriate by the
tournament Referee.**** 2. Switch to 10-Point Match Tiebreak in lieu of
third set for MAIN DRAW matches (14's thru 18's).**** 3. Utilize short sets, best-2-out-of-3 sets, with
10 point match tie-break in lieu of third set format for singles play, first to
4, set tie-break at 4-4 in divisions B/G 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s. (B/G 10s divisions
remains unchanged). Doubles may be modified from 8-game pro-set to a 6-game
pro-set if deemed appropriate by the tournament committee (B/G 10s remains
unchanged, keeping a 6-game pro-set format)****
Additionally, warm-up times and breaks between sets will be
strictly enforced; players will need to be present at their site for “to be
followed by” scheduling as needed by the tournament desk.****
Should the tournament need to cancel any play, the priority will be
on completing singles play for this qualifier.
Any cancellations as a last resort would be in the following order:****
1. Main Draw Doubles;****
2. Consolation Singles;****
3. Main Draw Singles****
The Tournament Referee may modify the scoring after a
complete round in any division in the event of inclement weather, health/safety
concerns in order to keep the tournament on schedule. For rounds in process, the original scoring
format must be kept until all rounds within a division are equal (lower half of
draw equals upper half of a draw).****
