SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WINNERS
CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD WINNERS FOR YOUR GREAT DISPLAY OF SPORTSMANSHIP!
1ST WEEKEND G16 > Annika Lin G16 > Jamilah Karah G16 > Isabelle Bahr B16 > Luca Viarengo
2ND WEEKEND B18 > Daniel Baturyn B16 > Sean Barstow B16 > Luke Bollinger G16 > Audrey-Marie Rafols G16 > Rhea Rai G16 > Akanksha Pabari
Please see me at the tournament desk for your bag tag. If I missed you at the tournament, let me know and I'll mail your tag.
Good sportsmanship is a key component of any competitive event. We expect at this level the players and parents are setting the tone for exemplary sportsmanship. In recognition of GOOD sportsmanship we will award USTA NorCal Sportsmanship tags daily throughout the tournament. Nomination forms will be available at the tournament desk and we encourage ALL to participate in nominating good sportsmanship. From the daily winners the Tournament Committee will award one overall sportsmanship award winner to one female and one male at the conclusion of the event. Those overall winners will be given a special tournament sweatshirt in recognition of their exemplary sportsmanship throughout the entire event.
On the flip side, poor sportsmanship from players and fans alike will be under the USTA Zero Tolerance Policy which will be strictly enforced by our officiating crew. We strongly prefer to reward good behavior versus issuing penalties so please be on time and play fair.
If you did not received your sportsmanship bag tag from me at the tournament desk, please ask me for it at the desk. If you are not returning to the tournament site you can send me an email with your mailing address and I will mail it to you. Thanks again for your positive sportsmanship and attitude! Chrys Atkinson, Tournament Director (chrysa@sparetimeinc.com).

Update on SAT and ACT avoidances! Please read if you are going to request one or both of these avoidances -
We have an ACT avoidance the first Saturday of the tournament, and an SAT avoidance on the second Saturday of the tournament. To be able to honor your request for an avoidance, we are reminding you that it must be requested BEFORE entries close. You must tell us where you are taking the test and at what time you can be at the site to play. The absolute latest time honored will be 3:30 PM. We will also need a copy of your test registration sent to us by email.
If you cannot make it to the site by that time, your option is to find a closer testing site to Broadstone.
We will be able to honor these requests for main draw players only. If we cannot honor your request for the second weekend because of the consolation draw, you may withdraw without penalty. Again, the latest time that we can honor is 3:30 PM.
We can honor those requests that are properly submitted as long as there isn't something that affects the tournament that is not within our control - like inclement weather, etc. Again, if you are not able to play because of this issue and avoidance, then you may withdraw without penalty.

TOURNAMENT COMMUNICATION
TOURNAMENT COMMUNICATION will be handled through email to the Tournament Director (chrysa@sparetimesportsclubs.com) and Tournament Referee (ckim410s@gmail.com). We both are able to respond quicker to emails than phone calls (in 24 hours or less). The TD will respond to emails real time from the tournament site during the tournament. Referee will not have access to emails/phone DURING tournament.
|
NO LATE ENTRIES!!
Late Entries will NOT be accepted into this tournament for any reason. Please register online and on time if you intend to play.

Second Weekend – Avoidance Requests for SAT testing
If you are planning to take the SAT on the second weekend of
the tournament (November 3rd), please notify the tournament director, Chrys Atkinson at chrysa@sparetimeinc.com with a copy to the tournament referee, Carol
Kim at ckim410s@gmail.com BEFORE entries close. To receive this accommodation, the player MUST send us
the test date, city, and proof of registration for our records. Please also send us the requested match start
time which shall be 3:30 PM or earlier.
We will do our best to honor all requests. These guidelines may not be honored if inclement weather alters the scheduling. The second
weekend scheduling will take place following the conclusion of the first
weekend of the tournament. If a player realizes that he or she needs to
withdraw to take the test, no suspension points will apply and the withdrawal
will be put in as a withdrawal due to personal circumstance as long as the tournament
director and the referee are notified of this avoidance request prior to the
entry closing date.
