Warm-up courts are available at 8 a.m. Tuesday. First matches start at 9 a.m.

Also, please check the draw online each evening after 8 p.m. for changes. Withdrawals and weather issues may cause adjustments to be made, it is the payer's responsibility to check the draw.

* When entering the gate at any of the plantations just inform gate guard you are going to the specific tennis club for the tournament, you will be given a pass.

This registration will take place at in the Green room at the Van Der Meer Shipyard location (inside Shipyard Plantation) from 4-7 p.m. only. The Green room is located off the patio in front of the indoor courts. You will receive a tournament packet that will include directions to all the sites and practice courts and restaurant discounts.

For those of you that "just can't make it," please follow these instructions: DO NOT CALL! Follow these instructions so you will not be replaced in the draw.

1 - Make sure your entry fee has been paid!! (No pay - no play)
2 - Email or Fax in your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone numbers & HOTEL info completed to 843-785-7032

3- Come to the main site on Saturday to register - only the SHIPYARD site will have registration on Saturday morning. You must register before your first match or you will not be guaranteed a player gift. (Players do not have to register, parents or guardians may register them).
3 - Show up 30 minutes before your match time. Please be patient with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to the tournament.
4 - On Saturday, beginning at 7:15 AM, we will only have one person checking in players for the tournament (those that did not come the night before). We will only register players at the main site: SHIPYARD. If this causes you to be late for your match, unfortunately that will be your problem that could have been avoided. Therefore, we urge all of you to check-in on Friday this includes Locals, Commuters and Travelers. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please check Girls 18 doubles draw for changes, your time/location/opponent may of changed. There was a glitch in TDM and it has been corrected.

The area experienced a winter storm and freezing last week. Due to the lack of playable clay courts on island, USTA Southern has authorized the girls 18 division to be played on hard courts. Boys 18s will remain on clay. The hard court locations will be VDM Tennis Center and VDM Shipyard. The "covered" hard courts at VDM Tennis Center may be used as well.

Withdrawal After Entry Deadline?
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You must email your written withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email is reggie@vdmtennis.com. Include player name, division, USTA #, and reason for withdrawal. If player is in doubles make sure to contact your partner as well. Please note: There are No refunds after the registration deadline.

This is a four (4) day tournament - Saturday thru Tuesday. Draw size will be 128 with the Southern Standings List being used for selection and seedings.

LUNCH will be provided for ALL PLAYERS on Saturday beginning at Noon at all sites - PIZZA By PAPA JOHN'S

The Format of Play for Singles is a 128 Draw, Full Feed-In Consolation through the Quarterfinals and a 3rd/4th Playoff in the Main Draw. . The Scoring for Main Draw Singles is Best 2 of 3 Full Sets. Consolation Draw Singles is Best 2 of 3 Sets, with a 10 pt match Tie Break used in lieu of a full 3rd set, if necessary. The Format of Play for Doubles is a 64 Draw, Single Elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff. The Scoring for Doubles is an 6-game Pro-Set. NOTE: ALL PLAYERS IN THE SEMIFINALS OF SINGLES and DOUBLES WILL PLAY AGAIN, EITHER FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OR THE 3rd/4th POSITION!



*PLEASE NOTE* Players who lose in Main draw of 16 on Sunday afternoon will not play singles Monday. They will feed in and play again Tuesday morning. This is unavoidable using the feed-in, since the consolation will need to play 2 rounds to "catch-up". This is the standard format for all Southern Level 1 events.

SEEDING will be done with the most current Southern Standing list 18s combined (jan 9)

We will have a trainer full time at the Shipyard VDM site throughout the weekend.

Doubles will begin on Saturday morning at 8 AM. One round of Doubles will be played before and after Singles on Sunday and Monday. [Tentative]. Doubles draw is single elimination.
• Singles Finals, 3/4 Playoff, Consolation Round of 16 and Quarterfinals, Quarterfinal Consolation Finals, and Doubles Finals and 3/4 Playoff will be played on Tuesday.
*** The singles tournament format is Full Feed-in through the ROUND OF 16 with a Quarterfinal Losers Consolation draw.
*** Quarter final main draw losers have a separate draw and don’t feed-in to the initial consolation bracket.
*** Losers in the main draw Round of 16 (Sunday afternoon) may not play until Tuesday morning. [The reason for this “holdover” is main draw is playing 2 rounds on Sunday and this creates a situation where losers of the 2nd match of the day have no one to play until 2 rounds of consolation have been played on Monday.]
*** Consolation Singles Draws will not be played out completely

When leaving Van Der Meer Shipyard take a left and follow Shipyyard Drive to the round-a-bout. Take the first right in the round-a-bout (Shipyard Road) and this will lead you through Shipyard Plantation. After exiting the Main Gate, take a right at the light onto Business 278 WEST (Up Island). Palmetto Dunes will be the next plantation on your right. After driving 1.5 miles, the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center will be on the left. Look for the sign.

Stay on 278 coming on island and it becomes pope ave at the south side traffic circle. Stay on Pope until you turn right at Cordillo Ave. (stop light). Take the next left on Deallyon Ave. VDM Tennis Center will be approx one block up Deallyon on your right.

From Interstate 95, take Exit 8. Ignore other Hilton Head exit signs as this is the most direct route to the Island. From Exit 8, go East on Hwy 278 (Approx 17 miles) until you reach the Hilton Head Island bridge. Continue East on Highway 278 until you reach the Cross Island Expressway. The toll is $1.25, which is worth the price in time, gas, and traffic lights. After passing through the toll booth and crossing the Broad Creek bridge, you will be on Plalmetto Bay Road. Follow this road through two traffic lights and be in the left lane as you approach the Sea Pines Traffic circle. Travel through the traffic circle and exit onto Hwy 278 William Hilton Parkway. The entrance to Shipyard Plantation will be on your right.

Van der Meer has a relationship with Seashore Vacations, 3 night minimum Courtside or Surf Court - 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom, fully equipped condos adjacent to Van Der Meer Tennis Center in the South Forest Beach Area of the Island.
