ENTERING TWO (2) DIVISIONS: Players are allowed to enter two divisions in Southern Levels 1A, 2, and 3 tournaments. #1. Players selected to both age divisions they apply for will automatically be selected in the older age division. They would be removed from the other age division. #2. Players not selected to either division would remain on the Alternates list for both division but would be obligated to play the division they first get in from the Alternates list. They would be removed from the Alternates list in the other division. #3. Players selected to one age division would be removed from the Alternates list of the division they were not selected. #4. Once a player is selected for any one division NO changes can be made.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS FOR SOUTHERN LEVEL 1A, 2 and 3 TOURNAMENTS ONLY AND DOES NOT MEAN YOU CAN ENTER MORE THAN ONE TOURNAMENT ON THE SAME DATES.
ELIGIBILITY: This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.
FORMAT OF PLAY: 32 players will be selected for each event and then be split into two Draws of 16 players using the Waterfall System for selection with a Full Feed in Consolation through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. All Singles draws (12-18) will play the best two out of three tie-break sets with a Match tie break in lieu of the third set. The Finals of the Consolation will not be played. Boys and Girls 10's will play on the 78 foot court using Green Dot Balls and up to a 29" racquet. The required scoring format, for 10's singles matches, shall be the best of two short sets (first to four (4) and win by two), with a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by two) at 4-4 in each set, and a set tiebreak (first to seven (7) and win by two) in lieu of the third set.
The Format of Play for Doubles is a 16 Draw, Single Elimination with a 3rd/4th Playoff The Scoring for Doubles is an 8-game Pro Set with a tie break at 8 all. *Short scoring may be used in the Main Draw to catch up after weather delays, but must get final approval from Southern office.
PRACTICE COURTS: We will be using all three sites for the majority of the Matches - Saturday and Sunday, courts will open at 6:45 AM. From 6:45 AM - 7:45 AM, you may practice on any open HARD COURT, first come first serve - 4 players to every court. THERE WILL BE NO WARMING UP ON SOFT COURTS. There are some other public facilities that are available for practice. I've listed them below. FAQ- This is a Southern Level 3 Tournament - You may enter Two (2) Divisions in this tournament in hopes of getting into the older division. You will only be selected for one singles event. You should only register for two singles divisions if you are willing to play either division - You may NOT enter a different age division in doubles than your singles. - CHECK THE INTERNET/TENNISLINK AND/OR DRAWS TO FIND YOUR NEXT MATCH TIME. - Please read all of the information provided on the website. It is a lot to scroll through but will probably answer any questions you might have. - On Wednesday, 10/18, PLEASE CHECK THE DOUBLES COMPETITORS LIST TO MAKE SURE YOUR PAIRING IS CORRECT. - Email all other questions to WILSONNG@BELLSOUTH.NET - this is the best form of communication. With such a short amount of time between registration closing and the start of the tournament, answering and returning phone calls is nearly impossible. Emails can be answered much quicker and at any time during the day or night.
YOU MUST PLAY THE SAME DIVISION IN SINGLES AND DOUBLES: Per Southern Tennis Association Rules: You MUST play the same division in DOUBLES that you designated to play in SINGLES. PLEASE sign-up accordingly. Players signing up for TWO (2) singles divisions, PLEASE keep a close eye on your doubles status after the competitor list comes out. Thank you for your cooperation!
DOUBLES: Doubles and Singles must be the same Age Group. Doubles play will begin on Friday evening with two or three rounds. (It is an 8-game pro set). We do NOT partner players. It is your job to find a partner, confirm the partnership, and then register by the doubles deadline.. AND, BOTH PLAYERS MUST REGISTER!! USTA does not allow us to give out player information.

If you wish to only play in Doubles and NOT singles. The tournament staff will contact you to pay a fee of $25 for Doubles only.
ORDER FOR DOUBLES SELECTION: Players registered or not registered for the singles tournament can register for doubles. But please note that the selection for doubles is in the following order: 1. Teams with both players entered in the singles. 2. Teams with one player entered in singles and one alternate. 3. Teams with one player entered in singles and one player not registered for singles. 4. Teams with both players not registered for singles.
Doubles Seeding: Teams shall be seeded in the order of their combined standings (e.g., Player A holds #1 standing and Player B holds the #10 standing. The Team of A & B would have combined standing of 11.) Teams that have the same combined, the tie shall be broken by using the highest singles standing of the 4 players.
WATERFALL TOURNAMENT SYSTEM: The 32 players will be split as follows: Red 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12,13, 16,17, 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 29, 32 Blue 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 11,14,15,18,19, 22, 23, 26, 27, 30, 31 Seeding will be made after the players have been split.
CONTACT INFORMATION: Due to Alternate notification and Draw Changes, it is imperative for you to add contact information during the online registration process when asked. So a player does not lose out, please help us and yourselves by offering this contact information.
LATE ENTRIES: For the late entries we will receive, they will be placed at the bottom of the alternates list. If the seeding has been completed and a late entry is the next to get in, we will determine if they will affect the seeding before we can accept you into the tournament. There will be an additional $25 processing fee for late entries.
Once Accepted: Late entries shall be accepted and go to the bottom of the alternates list ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS in the order received via email. EMAIL IS THE ONLY WAY TO COMMUNICATE FOR LATE ENTRIES. Last day of LATE ENTRIES IS WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2017 at 5 PM.
ON-SITE ALTERNATES: "On Site" Alternates must register at their age group's tournament site. You can inform the Tournament Referee on Friday night that you plan to be an On-Site Alternate. Please make sure we have accurate contact information for you to be reached during the weekend. On-Site Alternates will be selected in the order of the Alternates List. On Site Alternates should be on-site when their age and gender check in for play 30 minutes prior to the first match in the first round.
WITHDRAWALS: Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline: Go to the Tournament website and click "Withdraw" in the "EDIT REGISTRATION" box on the right side of your screen. From there you can withdraw. If you do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just below "Withdraw". We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself. You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before registration closes. Withdraw After Entry Deadline: Email the tournament director immediately to withdraw from the tournament. You must EMAIL your withdrawal to WILSONNG@BELLSOUTH.NET DO NOT CALL TO WITHDRAW. There are NO refunds if withdrawing after October 15 , 2017. NO Exceptions. Defaulting during the tournament: You must see the Tournament Desk Staff. Unless you speak with the the tournament staff, it will count as a "NO SHOW".
NO REFUNDS AFTER Sunday, October 15, 2017: If you withdraw after October 15, 2017 your credit card will be charged. NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED FOR HURRICANES or other natural disasters.
Per STA Requirements "An entry fee refund is not required for anyone withdrawing within seven days of the start date."
MANDATORY TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN: Check-in will start at 4:00 PM and end at 8:00 PM on Friday evening at Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club. Saturday morning check-in will be available for those who cannot make it on Friday at Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club. If you miss Friday Check-in: 1. Make sure your entry fee has been paid - Check the tournament Entry Fee Report when posted. 2. Arrive at your site 1 hour before your match time to check-in. 3. For those playing at 8:00 AM - Check-in at the desk no later than 7:30. 4. T-Shirts can be picked up at Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club
THE CODE: In matches without an official on court, players are expected to follow "THE CODE". If you have never read it, please do so.
STRINGER: There will be a stringer at Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club during the tournament.
AWARDS: Two draws (waterfall): Singles, Each Draw: Places 1st – 3rd 1st – 3rd in two draws would be a similar number of awards as one 32 draw. Doubles: Places 1st & 2nd
