Plano Championship Major Zone (CMZ)

An accident is causing significant traffic delays on Central Expressway/U.S. 75. The back-up is mostly in the Royal Lane to Spring Valley area, but is slowing travel in adjacent areas as well. We advise parents and players to avoid that area and take an alternate route to tournament playing sites.

The abbreviations for the sites are:

ALHS = Allen High School
COSC = Collin College (Spring Creek Campus)
HPTC = High Point Tennis Center
LJHS = Lovejoy High School
PESH = Plano East Senior High
PSHS = Plano Senior High School
PWSH = Plano West Senior High School.

This webpage will be used for any updates concerning bad weather, postponements, revised schedules, etc. You may also call 972-941-7170, option 1, for any updates concerning bad weather. Tournament staff and/or volunteers will not have the time necessary to call players in case of bad weather, postponements or revised schedules. Players are responsible for checking the website or calling High Point in case of such event.

Draw sheets will be available for viewing (only) at each site. It is recommended that all players print their own draw sheets and/or check the tournament webpage frequently throughout the tournament for results and scores. Site directors and tournament volunteers are not responsible for a player’s match times. Players are ultimately responsible for reading the draw sheets correctly.

Central Expressway North (from Dallas) to Exchange Parkway (Exit 36). Take Exchange Parkway east about ¾ mile and turn right on Rivercrest. Courts are about ½ mile on right. more info

Central Expressway North (from Dallas) to exit 31 (Spring Creek Pkwy.) Take Spring Creek East about 1 mile to Jupiter Road. Turn right on Jupiter, and go about ½ mile and courts are on the left. more info

Central Expressway North (from Dallas) to Exit 31 (Spring Creek Pkwy), go left under the highway and stay on Spring Creek for about ½ mile. Tennis Center is on the right side. more info

Central Expressway North (from Dallas) to McDermott (exit 34). Go East on McDermott (right).
Once you cross over Greenville (Hwy. 5), go approx. 3.5 miles. High School will be on the left hand side. more info

Central Expressway North (from Dallas) to Exit 28 (Plano Parkway). Take Plano Parkway east and turn left onto Los Rios Blvd. Los Rios Blvd. dead-ends into Plano East Senior High School. Plano East is at the corner of Los Rios Blvd. and San Gabriel. Courts are on the northeast corner of the campus. more info

Central Expressway North (from Dallas) to Exit 29 (15th Street, Whitsitt Pkwy, FM 544). Go left under highway (west). Stay on 15th Street until Custer Road. Turn right on Custer and left on Park Blvd. High School is on right side. Entrance to court is on Park Blvd. more info

First-off Consolation – All Challengers and CMZs use the First Off Consolation Format. This format will show as Single Elimination on the tournament homepage, but all players are guaranteed two matches. This format eliminates “maybe matches” and almost every player in consolation will play their first consolation match on Saturday. How does it work? Players that lose in the main draw will be fed into the consolation draw in the order that they come off the court (i.e. the first player to come off the court will go on line one, the sixth player to come off the court will go on line six). This new format ensures more players playing on Saturday and an overall better tournament.

Excessive Overrule Guideline: The USTA Texas Officials Committee along with the Competitive Department has established a guideline in reference to excessive overrules as clarified in the Friend at Court. This guideline states "Once a player has been overruled for a second time in a match, they will be cautioned that after another overrule, they will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct under the point penalty system."

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.

USTA Texas "No Late Entries" Policy for Juniors Due to a new USTA Texas internal procedure, junior division players will NOT be able to register for a tournament after the online published deadline. We are aware that currently parents reach out via email or phone to the USTA Texas staff and/or tournament director requesting to be manually added to the tournament after online registration has closed. If a player misses the registration deadline, then he/she will not be permitted to participate in that tournament

Registration Confirmation: As a parent or player it is your responsibility to assure registration in the event. Regardless if you register on the website or mobile app after completing the registration you should visit the USTA web driven site and confirm your registration by finding the player in the applicants list. If you select to skip this process please be aware that should any malfunctions of the system occur, players will not be granted late entrance in the event due to a system error.
