TOURNAMENT SITE: Smith College. Northampton, MA

DRAW SIZE & MATCH PLAY FORMAT:
Draw size is 24 players. Format is Single Elimination with Quarter Final Losers playing off for 5th/6th place and Semi-Final losers playing off for 3rd/4th place. First and second round losers will play a consolation draw for 9th place. All main draw and 3rd/4th place matches are best two out-of-three tiebreak sets. All consolation and quarter final losers 5th place playoff matches are best two out of three sets with a match tie break in lieu of the third set. Seeding is based on, but not limited to, the most current standing list available.Tournament is open to eligible New England residents only.

CHECK-IN INFORMATION:
Check in 30 minutes before the start time of each match you are scheduled to play at.

REMEMBER TO PREPARE FOR HEAT:
Bring a cooler with ice and hand towels. Stay hydrated. Find shade.

Trophies will be awarded to Winners and Finalists respectively.

OFFICIAL BALL: Penn Championship ball.

RULES:
The tournament is governed by USTA Sanctioned Tournament Rules and USTA New England Regulations. USTA officials will be on site. The Point Penalty System will be in effect. Unsportsmanlike conduct of players, parents or coaches, on, or off, the court, will not be tolerated and may lead to default of the player(s) involved.

RAIN & HEAT PLAN:
In the event of rain, we will be using 2 indoor sites: Smith College, Northampton, MA Bay Road Tennis Center, Hampshire College
If the referee suspends play due to rain, players will then be assigned to indoor courts if necessary. There will be no court fee charges to players for any matches played indoors. If you are not on site call the tournament director phone # .
In the event that the Heat Index (temperature and humidity combined) reaches 100 degrees the referee MAY instruct that a 10 point match tie break be used in lieu of the third set. If the Heat Index reaches 103 degrees, the referee may suspend play anytime between noon and 5PM. If play is suspended the refereee MAY allow matches in progress and in the second set, to complete the match. (Based on National Weather Service information.)

August L4 singles Super Six events award National & New England points per round. Draw size is 24 players. Format is Single Elimination with Quarter Final Losers playing off for 5th/6th place and Semi-Final losers playing off for 3rd/4th place. First and second round losers will play a consolation draw for 9th place. All main draw (incl. 3rd/4th playoff) matches are best two out of three tiebreak sets (set tie break is first to 7 points by 2 points and will be used in all sets reaching six games all). All consolation and 5th place playoff matches are best two out of three sets with a match tiebreak (first to 10 points by 2 points ) in lieu of the third set. In extreme heat/humidity/rain conditions matches may be required to use a match tiebreak (first to 10 points by 2 points) in lieu of a third set.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, August 14, 2016 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
