Welcome Players
Columbus Regional Tennis Association (CORTA) is excited and pleased to
announce that we are hosting the 2015 USTA National Selection Tournament Boys
14s & 16s. The tournament committee, volunteers, officials,
Columbus Parks and Recreation, the Columbus Sports Council and CORTA
would like to welcome you and the rest of the players, as well as
parents and coaches to this tournament.

TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN
Tournament check-in will be held Friday night from 5:00-7:00p.m. at the host hotel, Hyatt Place-North. If you are unable to make tournament check-in please arrive early to your first match in order to make sure we have all waivers and forms completed.

Balls used in the tournament will be Wilson US Open Regular Duty.

DOUBLES REGISTRATION
After the selection process is complete, but before 5:30pm on Wednesday, Feb. 10th, please email cissy@corta.org with your name and your partner's name (even if you entered on-line). BOTH players must confirm their partner's name in an email. If
you do not have a partner and still wish to enter without a partner,
please send an email stating that you do not have a partner. It is not
the responsibility of the Tournament Committee to match a player with a
partner, but we will do our best to help pair as many players as
possible. There is no on-site Doubles sign-up after the Thursday
deadline.

Playing Site
Cooper Creek Tennis Center is located at 4816
Milgen Road Columbus, Georgia 31907. Cooper Creek Tennis Center is a
public facility with a two-story clubhouse overlooking 30 clay courts.
There are walking and bike paths on site. Directions to Cooper Creek
Tennis Center from I-185: Take I-185 S to Exit 7 (Manchester
Expressway). Turn east onto Manchester Expressway. Travel approximately 2
miles to the Warm Springs Road Connector. Travel up the exit ramp
and turn right. The entrance to Cooper Creek Park is directly ahead. The
clubhouse is a two-story building located on the right as you enter the
park. Tournament check-in desk will be on the right side of the road
under the deck of the two-story clubhouse.

SCHEDULE
The schedule is tentative and subject to change. The schedule will be confirmed at tournament check-in.
Singles matches will be scheduled Saturday after the 1st round of doubles. -Main draw: Two rounds Saturday, quarters and semi's on Sunday, with finals and 3/4 playoff on Monday -Quarter final draw: Quarters (main draw quarter final losers) and semis on Sunday, Quarter final playoff (5th/6th) playoff on Monday. -FIC: Round 1 (main draw first round losers) scheduled on Saturday, Round 2 (includes losers from FIC round 1) and quarters Sunday, semis and finals on Monday.
Doubles matches will begin on Saturday morning, February 14th.

Draws and Format
Singles -Draws of 32 players -Main draw is best of three tie-break sets, regular scoring -Main draw semi-final losers will playoff for 3rd/4th place, scoring is best of three tie-break sets, regular scoring -Quarter final losers will be fed into a separate draw to playoff for 5th/6th place, scoring will be two tie-break sets, with a 10-point tie-break in lieu of third set. -FIC through the round of 16, and the FIC will play out the finals. -FIC is best of three sets with a 10-point tie-break in lieu of third set DOUBLES -Draws of 16 teams -Eight game pro-sets, regular scoring, seven-point tie-break at eight games all -Single elimination -Required playoff for 3rd/4th place

PRACTICE COURTS / WARM UP COURTS
Practice courts may be reserved for Friday by calling Cooper Creek Tennis Center @ 706-317-4186. Warm up courts will be available on Saturday beginning @ 7:00a.m. before first matches. Players must remember to drag and line the courts after warm up and practice. There will be between 3 & 6 warm up courts available during the tournament. Please check with the tournament desk and / or hospitality to find out which courts will be used for warm up courts.

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.
|
LATE ENTRANTS - USTA Georgia will allow late entrants to be accepted into all USTA GA tournaments, Levels 1-5, in the event that the draw is not full, provided that such late entrants do not affect the seeding and further provided that late entrants do not prevent timely entrants to be accepted into the draw under any circumstances. Accepting late entrants is at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. Seeds must be posted by 12 noon following close of registration. Once draws are posted, the tournament is closed and can no longer accept late entries.

Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, January 14, 2016 11:59:00 AM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
