Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) Pilot – Player Selection &Seeding
The
USTA/Midwest Section Junior Pathway Committee has approved a pilot program in
which the Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) system will be used in combination with
the Points Per Round standings system. The goal of the pilot program is
to identify if the new system will ensure that top-level players will be
selected for specific Midwest junior tournaments.
UTR will be used for a portion of the player selection and seeding for this and

Scoring
The Singles Main Draw will play best 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets and Consolation will play regular scoring in best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10-point super tiebreak in lieu of a third set. The Consolation round stops at the semi-finals.

PRACTICE/WARM-UP COURTS Practice courts ($13 per half hour) will be available on Friday. There will also be courts prior to 8am on Saturday morning and limited courts will be available throughout the remainder of the day. You will need to pre-pay for the courts with a credit card in order to reserve a court. Refunds are only made if you cancel within 24 hours To make reservations call 513-771-2835, courts may be reserved 7 days in advance.
ADDITIONAL PRACTICE COURTS Court Yard Sportsplex, 7373 Kingsgate Way, West Chester, OH 45069, (513)777-5530, will have practice courts available , regular rates apply. Please mention you are with the tournament. About 8.6 miles from Queen City. The Club at Harpers Pt., 8675 E Kemper Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45249, (513)489-9700, regular rates apply and is about 7.1 miles from Queen City.

First match times will be available on the Wednesday before the tournament begins by 6PM.
Come back to this page and click on the blue “Future Match Info Report” to find out your first time as well as your Win/Loss time (W/L). Please be careful when reading this. The W/L times are in parentheses. Players from the same district will not play each other first round unless an alternate fills a spot or more than half the draw is from the same district.

Saturday: 2 rounds of main draw and 2 rounds of consolation singles Sunday: 2 rounds of main draw and 3 rounds of consolation singles Monday: 2 rounds of main draw and 2 rounds of consolation singles

Awards
Trophies will be given to the following players: Champion, Finalist, 3rd & 4th place, and FIC Semi-Finalists. In addition, a Sportsmanship trophy will be awarded.

USTA/Midwest Section Domicile Rules:
The USTA/Midwest Section Closed Junior Championships, the district qualifiers, the USTA/Midwest Section Designated Tournaments and USTA/Midwest Section Junior Davis and Wightman Cup events are open to citizens of the US, permanent resident aliens in possession of a valid alien registration card, individuals who are applicants for adjustment to lawful permanent resident status and who can present a USCIS receipt for a pending unadjudicated form I-485, aliens who have resided continuously in the US for more than one year and who are members of families of persons in the diplomatic or consular corps and aliens who have been granted Refugee Status, Asylee Status or Temporary Protected Status.
