MATCH LOCATIONS
Matches will be played at two locations - Sports Mall and Coach Mike's at Liberty Park. The Sports Mall is located at 5445 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. On the draw SM = Sports Mall. Coach Mike's at Liberty Park is located in Liberty Park. You can enter the park at 650 East 900 South in Salt Lake City. On the draw CMLP = Coach Mike's at Liberty Park. In case of inclement weather, players may be sent to alternative locations in order to complete the matches for the day. Please read the instructions under THE BIG "R" POLICY.

FORMAT FOR BOY'S AND GIRL'S 12-18 DIVISIONS
Best 2 out of 3 sets, regular scoring, 7 point tiebreak at 6 games all, single elimination.

FORMAT FOR 12'S CHALLENGER DIVISIONS
12's Challenger Divisions will be played on full size courts with green dot low compression balls. matches will be best 2 out of 3 full sets, regular scoring, with a 7 point tiebreak at 6 games all.

FORMAT FOR 10'S OPEN DIVISIONS
10's Green Open Divisions will be played on 78' (full size) courts with green low compression balls. Their matches will be best of 3 short sets (first to 4 games), no-ad scoring, with a 7 point tiebreak played in lieu of the 3rd set. 10's Orange Open Divisions will be played on 60' courts with orange low compression balls. Their matches will also be best of 3 short sets (first to 4 games) no-ad scoring, with a 7 point tiebreak played in lieu of the 3rd set.

WAYS TO QUALIFY FOR 10'S OPEN GREEN DIVISION
A player may choose to begin to play Open Green in the month that they turn 10 1/2. A player who WINS 2 Open Orange Events AND competes in at least 4 Open Orange Events in Utah will qualify for Open Green. A player who WINS 1 District Cup Event in Utah AND competes in at least 4 Open Orange events in Utah will qualify for Open Green. Challenger and Futures Events do NOT count toward advancement into Open Green play. For only the two District Cup Events, ANY 10's player may choose to compete in the Open Green Division. No player is at any time required to play Open Green. Players may choose to continue to play Open Orange until the month that they turn 11.

CHALLENGER DEFINITION
A Challenger is a novice player who has not won an Open Tournament. A junior may continue to participate in Challenger events, in their age appropriate division, until they have won no more than two (2) Challenger Tournaments. After two (2) Challenger Tournament wins, a junior is no longer eligible for a Challenger event until they age up. A player may not play out of his/her age division in a Challenger event until the month in which the junior ages up. Challenger events do not earn Points Per Round.

We try to the best of our ability to accommodate avoidance requests for a player's first match of the tournament. After that, we are unable to accommodate avoidance requests due to the unpredictability of match outcomes, and court availability. AVOIDANCE REQUESTS MUST BE MADE TO THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR BY THE ENTRY DEADLINE AT rwise@utahtennis.com or call me at (801) 944-8782 x13.

RESCHEDULING POLICY
There will be NO RESCHEDULING of any sanctioned matches except in extreme circumstances beyond the control of the players, such as a funeral, and then only with prior approval of the Tournament Director. Players rescheduling without permission will be DEFAULTED. All costs of rescheduling are the responsibility of the initiator, including guest fees. All court costs for matches rescheduled BY PLAYERS for indoors due to bad weather are the responsibility of the initiator, including guest fees. PLAYERS ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO RESCHEDULE WHEN ASKED BY AN OPPONENT.

THE BIG "R" POLICY
IF MATCHES ARE RESCHEDULED BECAUSE OF WEATHER, I WILL POST INSTRUCTIONS ON THE TOURNAMENT WEBSITE. IN CASE OF RAIN - please do not leave the site. Weather can change quickly and matches may be resumed sooner than you think. Even if the weather looks "iffy" where you are (unless otherwise instructed by a Tournament Official) always go to your sites to check in for your match, regardless of weather conditions. If there is a rain delay, alternative instructions will be provided at the tournament desk. Playing indoors will be a last resort and every effort will be made to reschedule matches outdoors if weather permits. Players may be sent to alternative locations in order to complete the matches for the day. PLEASE BE PATIENT!

Draws are posted 3 days prior to the event. It is the player's responsibility to check draws for scheduled match times. Draws are posted on the website at www.utahtennis.com. PLEASE CHECK YOUR DRAWS CAREFULLY AND OFTEN!

TOURNAMENT REGULATIONS
USTA Rules of Tennis and USTA Tournament Regulations, including the Point Penalty System, will be enforced throughout the tournament. It is a players responsibility to know and understand these rules. Roving Umpires may be present at all Sanctioned Tournaments and will call obvious infractions of the Code and Rules of Tennis. THE CODE CONCERNING SPECTATORS - SPECTATORS ARE NEVER TO MAKE CALLS. A PLAYER SHOULD NEVER ENLIST THE AID OF A SPECTATOR IN MAKING A CALL. NO SPECTATOR HAS A PART IN THE MATCH.

SPECTATOR PERSONAL CONDUCT POLICY 2014 As a spectator of a participant in USTA-sanctioned tennis tournament in the Utah District, you are under a “duty to encourage and maintain high standards of proper conduct, fair play, and good sportsman ship.” USTA Regulation IV.C(1). In addition, you are “under an obligation to avoid acts that may be considered detrimental to the game of tennis.” USTA Regulation IV.C(1). In all Utah District tennis tournaments, the following acts are prohibited before, during, and after each match, engagement in such actions, will be subject to the penalties listed below. 1. Addressing an opponent in a negative manner, including any references to the opponent’s line calls, behavior, or anything else. 2. Addressing the parent or other representative of a junior opponent, or an adult players spectator, in a negative manner. 3. Addressing an official, tournament director or tournament representative in a negative manner. 4. Coaching during a match except as permitted by the USTA Rules. 5. Otherwise engaging in any abusive conduct that is detrimental to the game of tennis. Engaging in any of these prohibited acts, will cause a grievance to be submitted to the UTA Grievance Committee for review and spectator will be subject to the following ‘MINIMUM’ penalties: 1. First Offense: Banned from attending the next Utah District Sanctioned Event the player you were watching enters (this could be extended to include leagues and or tournaments entered by additional family member players). 2. Second Offense: Banned from attending the next three Utah District Sanctioned Events the player you were watching enters (this could be extended to include leagues and or tournaments entered by additional family member players). 3. Third Offense: Banned from attending any Utah District Sanctioned Events for a calendar year from the date of the Third Offense. In addition, the following acts are prohibited for players and spectators: 1. Visible or audible profanity or obscenity. 2. Abuse of racquet, balls, or equipment. 3. Verbal abuse of a player or official. 4. Receipt of coaching. 5. Failure to follow the instructions of an official. 6. Any other conduct that is abusive or detrimental to the game of tennis.
