Walnut Creek Championship Major Zone (CMZ)

Our CMZ has been cancelled due to moisture still in the air and courts not drying. We have tried to roll courts, but actually makes worse spreading water. We have still had some light moisture in the air, not helping the situation, losing time not drying. Thank you for your patience, and sorry for the inconvienence

We still have wet courts at all sites, with more rain coming in from the west. There will be no more tournament play today, and all consolations rounds have been cancelled for the tournament.
Main Draw players please check your draws by 8pm this evening for Sunday match times and location.
The 2 sites used Sunday will be WCCC and LHS

Due to our weather forecast this weekend we will abbreviate scoring and format for all matches. Our plan is to get as much played on Saturday as possible, since this could be our best day, and allow players to get as much play in as weather allows.
All matches will start at 2 All, no ad scoring with a 10pt tiebreaker for the 3rd set. With this format, matches will be played quicker, changing the match times. Below I have included times for Saturday from your original start times.

First-off Consolation – All Challengers and CMZs use the First Off Consolation Format. This format will show as Single Elimination on the tournament homepage, but all players are guaranteed two matches. This format eliminates “maybe matches” and almost every player in consolation will play their first consolation match on Saturday. How does it work? Players that lose in the main draw will be fed into the consolation draw in the order that they come off the court (i.e. the first player to come off the court will go on line one, the sixth player to come off the court will go on line six). This new format ensures more players playing on Saturday and an overall better tournament.
