SINGLES FORMAT
TOURNAMENT
WILL BE A 64 DRAW SINGLES. Singles will play a compass draw format. Players
will play two out of three full sets with a match tie breaker for the third.
The quarterfinal main draw round will have a single elimination “GOLD” playoff
round.
DOUBLES FORMAT
DOUBLES
WILL BE A 32 DRAW. Doubles will play 8 game pro-set with a10 point tie-breaker
at 8-8. PLAYERS MUST PLAY IN THE SAME AGE DIVISION IN SINGLES AND DOUBLES.

2. age group (for example boys 14)
3. all players MUST play in the same division in singles and doubles.
SCORING
All
matches in Boys and Girls 12, 14, 16, and 18 will be 2/3 sets with a match tie
breaker for the 3rd set. A player will be entitled to a three minute break
after splitting sets and before playing the Matchtiebreak. The player is
allowed to leave the court, talk to a coach or parent, make a phone call, etc.
We recommend you DO NOT leave the court because of the short time frame, and we
will allow coaches, parents, etc to talk with you behind the tarp of the court
but not on the court. If a player is late coming back to the court, a penalty
will be assessed.

will be able to pick up their player bags, check in for the tournament at Court

unable to check in on Friday evening we need everyone to report 40 minutes
prior to their first round match time at the site of their first match time. Player bags may be picked up until the
tournament ends on Monday, May 26 at Court One Athletic Club, 2291 Research Circle,

The
USTA Legal Department has determined that they cannot provide contact
information to tournament directors unless the customer provides the contact information
during the registration process. Previously the home phone number and email
address were pre-filled from the USTA Membership database when a player went
through the online registration process. The pre-fill was removed due to
privacy concerns. If you don't provide an email address and/or telephone number
when you register for this tournament then we will be unable to notify you
about any possible changes in the tournament.
2014 USTA/MIDWEST SECTION SEEDING
& SELECTION CRITERIA
All
USTA/Midwest Sectional and Designated Tournaments will adhere to the following
Seeding and Selection Criteria as set by the USTA/Midwest Section Junior
Competition Committee. Players will be selected based on the most current
USTA/Midwest Section Standing List at the time of the tournament entry
deadline. Players will be selected by the following 1. Eight (8) players from
the top 100 of the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in next
lower division except in the boys and girls 12s divisions where 4 players will be
selected 2. 56 players from the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List
in the current age division of the event (except in the boys and girls 12s
division where 60 players will be accepted) Remaining vacancies and/or
alternates will be selected from the USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the
division of the event. Alternates will be numbered with this Midwest Standings
List. Seeding will be done based on the USTA/Midwest Section Standing the
following week.
STRINGING
Tournament stringing
will be available. Racquets can be dropped off at Court One Athletic Club, 2291
Research Circle, Okemos, Mi 48864. Drop off racquet between the hours of 7am -
7pm. The stringing fee is $15.00 if own string is provided and $28.00 or $32 if
Court One provides the string.

WHAT IS A COMPASS DRAW
A
compass draw is a non-elimination event through 4 rounds of play. After each
round of play the winners will continue in their draw while the losers move to
the other points of the compass draw to form satellite draws. Each satellite
draw will be played to completion. The Quarterfinal losers of the EAST draw
will be placed into the GOLD round and play out the semis and finals.

BEFORE THE DEADLINE
BEFORE THE DEADLINE-
Signing up for two events: The USTA Code of Conduct and Suspension Point System
that has been adopted by the USTA/Midwest Section Junior Competition Committee
is in effect. An email MUST be sent to each Tournament Director BEFORE the
entry deadline informing them which events you are signing up for. All players
who DO NOT will be given five (5) suspension points for entering two or more
tournaments that take place at the same time, in whole or in part. This applies
to all players who signed up for the tournament INCLUDING Alternates. You are
expected to play the entire event as scheduled.
THE DEITY RULE WILL BE IN EFFECT IN THIS EVENT.
