DOUBLES DRAWS - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
For all doubles draws (NOT Mixed Doubles):
Each team has been placed in a group (Group A, Group B, etc.) for your age division. You will play a match in a round robin format against each team in your group. The team that wins the group will advance to the semifinals of the playoff bracket.
For the Men's 65s division, ONLY the winner of each group will advance to the semifinals because there are four groups.
For all other age divisions in which there is a playoff bracket, the winner of each group will advance to the playoff bracket. Two other teams from the two groups will also advance to the playoff bracket as a WILDCARD.
We will use the process outlined in the USTA Friend at Court to determine the Group Winners as well as the WILDCARD entries into the semifinals.
ALL teams in divisions using this format should expect to play TWO DOUBLES matches on Saturday, the last of your group's round robin (currently scheduled for 11:30am) AND the Semifinals of the Playoff Bracket (which is scheduled at 2:30pm)

DRAW FORMATS & SCORING
WE ARE DOING SOMETHING DIFFERENT THIS YEAR! THE GOAL IS TO GIVE EVERYONE AS MANY MATCHES AS POSSIBLE!
ALL SINGLES DRAWS will be the same as previous years with a First Match Losers Consolation. Players will need to voluntarily sign-up for the consolation draw at the completion of your first match by emailing the Tournament Referee within one(1) hour of the completion of your first match in the tournament. If we do not receive an email from the player to enter the consolation draw within that timeframe, we will not enter the player in the consolation draw.
MIXED DOUBLES DRAWS will also have a First Match Losers Consolation. Teams will need to voluntarily sign-up for the consolation draw at the completion of your first match by emailing the Tournament Referee within one(1) hour of the completion of your first match in the tournament. If we do not receive an email from the team to enter the consolation draw within that timeframe, we will not enter the team in the consolation draw.
MEN'S AND WOMEN'S DOUBLES will follow a CAT III FORMAT that provides for round robin play with the winners of each round robin group advancing to the semi-finals or finals of the division. Each doubles draw with six or more teams will be placed into round robin groups of 3 or 4 players, depending on the number of entries for that division. The champion of each group following the procedures outlined in the USTA Friend-at-Court for round robins will advance to the play-offs. The second-place finisher in a round robin group MAY advance to the play-offs depending on the number of entries in the event. This format will provide for more matchplay for players as requested in player feedback on previous year's events. Any draws with five or fewer teams will be a regular round robin draw as provided in the Friend-at-Court.
ALL MATCHES (SINGLES, DOUBLES and MIXED DOUBLES) will be the best 2-of-3 tiebreak sets with a match tiebreak in lieu of a full third set for all rounds prior to the finals. The FINALS of all draws will the best 2-of-3 tiebreak sets with a FULL THIRD SET. The Coman Tiebreak will be used for all tiebreakers.
All draws (Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles) will be limited to a maximum of 16 entrants (singles players or doubles teams).

The Tournament Committee (Tournament Director, Tournament Referee and Tournament Chair) will make all player selections and decisions for event seeding based on in order of priority: 1) head-to-head results from 2019, 2) latest published list of the USTA/Southern Standings for the age division, 3) latest published list of the USTA/Southern Standings for an age group other than the division in question.
