OPEN DIVISION SINGLES: WINNER - $1,000, FINALIST - $500, BASED UPON A DRAW OF 16. OPEN DOUBLES AND OPEN MIXED DOUBLES WINNING TEAM - $500, BASED UPON A DRAW OF 8 TEAMS.

WE CALL THIS TOURNAMENT THE ICE BREAKER FOR A REASON. IT IS THE FIRST OUTDOOR TOURNAMENT OF THE YEAR. PLEASE DRESS ACCORDING TO THE WEATHER.

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled match time. In accordance with USTA tournament rules, players will be assessed penalties for arriving late. Penalties begin at 1 minute past a player's scheduled match time.

Juniors wishing to participate in this event must play at a 5.0 or higher level. Also, between the Chasebrook Junior and Albion Adult Ice Breaker Tournaments, you may only play in two events. For example - you may play in the Adult Open Singles Division and a Junior Singles Division. Please call me at (801) 944-8782 x113 if I can answer any questions regarding this.

Age eligibility for Seniors is determined by your age as of December 31, 2018.

Matches will be best two out of three sets, regular scoring, with a 7 Point Tiebreak at six games all. Single Elimination.

Matches will be played at four locations, please check your draws carefully. SM = Sports Mall - located at 5445 South 900 East, Salt Lake City. ECC = Eccles Tennis Center - located at 550 South Guardsman Way, Salt Lake City, on the University of Utah campus. LP = Liberty Park - enter Liberty Park at 650 East 900 South, Salt Lake City. OA = Oak Hills - located at 1216 South Wasatch Drive, Salt Lake City (formerly known as Coach Mike's). In case of inclement weather, players may be sent to alternative locations in order to complete the matches for the day, or matches may be rescheduled. Please read the instructions under THE BIG "R" POLICY.

Draws are posted 3 days prior to the event. It is the player's responsibility to check the draws for scheduled match times. Draws are posted on the website at www.utahtennis.com. The spring weather is unpredictable, always check the tournament website before your matches. It is the player's responsibility to check for any changes that may occur.

We will assume that your intent is to participate in the tournament and you will be moved to the next event possible should your selected division not fill.

I will try to the best of my ability to accommodate avoidance requests FOR A PLAYER'S FIRST MATCH ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT. After that, we are unable to accommodate avoidance requests due to the unpredictability of match outcomes, court availability, the weather this time of year, and that this is the largest adult tournament of the year. AVOIDANCE REQUESTS MUST BE MADE WITH THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR, ROBIN WISE, AT (801) 944-8782 x 113, or at rwise@utahtennis.com BY THE ENTRY DEADLINE. I WILL DO MY BEST TO HONOR YOUR AVOIDANCE REQUEST IF MADE BY THE ENTRY DEADLINE.

There will be NO rescheduling of any sanctioned matches except in extreme circumstances beyond the control of the player (such as a funeral), and then ONLY with prior approval of the Tournament Director. Players rescheduling without permission from the Tournament Director are subject to DEFAULT. All court costs for matches rescheduled by PLAYERS for indoor play due to inclement weather are the responsibility of the players, not the tournament, including guest fees. PLAYERS ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO RESCHEDULE WHEN ASKED BY AN OPPONENT.

IF MATCHES ARE RESCHEDULED BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER, I WILL POST INSTRUCTIONS ON THE TOURNAMENT WEBSITE. In case of RAIN - please do not leave the site. Weather can change quickly and matches may be resumed sooner than you think. Even if the weather looks "iffy" where you are (unless otherwise instructed by a Tournament Official) always go to your site to check in for your match, regardless of weather conditions. If there is a rain delay, alternative instructions will be provided at the Tournament Desk. Playing indoors will be a last resort and every effort will be made to reschedule matches outdoors if weather permits. Players may be sent to alternative locations in order to complete the matches for the day. PLEASE BE PATIENT!

Water jugs will be available on the courts. Please bring your own refillable water bottle or cup.

No refunds after the draws have been made - which is two days before the draws are posted.

USTA Rules of Tennis and USTA Tournament Regulations, including the Point Penalty System, will be enforced.
