TRANSPORTATION
Please email aline@corta.org if you are interested in having transportation from the Courtyard Marriott to Cooper Creek Tennis Center. We are happy to provide this service, if there is a need.

PRACTICE COURTS AND WARM-UP COURTS
If you would like to hit Cooper Creek Tennis Center on Friday, you will need to contact them directly. There will be 5 courts available to the public at a first come, first serve basis. The main clubhouse is located on the right side of the road as you enter. Their number is 706-317-4186 however they do not take reservations. There is a fee for court usage and you must sign-in.
There will be a limited number of warm-up courts available at Cooper Creek Tennis Center on match days. There will be no fee for this and you may ask the tournament desk which courts will be used for warm-up. They will be available on a first come, first serve basis. We ask that you please have 4 to a court if players are waiting.

Take a left at the light between the Courtyard Marriott and Legacy Chevrolet onto I-185 (Manchester Expressway). Turn east onto Manchester Expressway. Travel approximately 2 miles to the Warm Springs Road Connector. Travel up the exit ramp and turn right. The entrance to Cooper Creek Park is directly ahead. The clubhouse is a two-story building located on your right as you enter the park. Tournament check-in desk will be under the deck of the clubhouse.

PLAYING SITE
Cooper Creek Tennis Center is located at 4816 Milgen Road Columbus, Georgia 31909 Cooper Creek Tennis Center is a public facility with a two-story clubhouse overlooking 30 newly resurfaced clay courts. There are walking and bike paths on site.

MATCH FORMAT
Singles Matches: 32 Draw Best of 3 Tiebreak Sets with a 10-Point Match Tiebreak in Lieu of a 3rd set.
Doubles Matches: 16 Draw 8 Game Pro Set with a 10-Point Match Tiebreak at 8 games all. Single Elimination with 3/4 Playoff
FIC Format: The singles Feed-in championship shall be played through the semifinals, no finals match shall be played. 3/4 Playoff FIC semifinal winners shall receive awards.
Beginning January 1, 2011, there shall be a mandatory 3-minute rest period after the second set when a Match Tiebreak is played in lieu of the 3rd Set. Coaching may take place during the rest period.
Qualifiers into USTA National Championships: Only the top two finishers in Singles will qualify into the USTA National Championships. The doubles finalists will qualify into the USTA National Championships. USTA National Open Players top finishers will qualify for the USTA National Spring Championships.Please note that top finishers must have timely entries into the tournament.
Singles and Doubles 3rd/4th place playoffs are required.

NEW USTA RULES FOR 2011
Line calls changed from "out" to "in" no longer result in a let. The player who made the incorrect call now looses the point regardless of their subsequent shot.

WITHDRAWING BEFORE THE DEADLINE
If entries have not closed, a player may withdraw by going to the tournament's USTA TennisLink Home Page. Once in the system, click on the "Register Now" text in red. When taken to the next page, click on "Withdraw" on the left hand side of the screen. You will need your confirmation number from your original registration to withdraw. Because your credit card will not be charged prior to the entry deadline, no refund needs to be made. If you cannot find your confirmation number, contact linkteam@usta.com.

WITHDRAWING AFTER TOURNAMENT DEADLINE
Contact aline@corta.net or 706 317 4136. No refund will be given unless the withdrawal is due to illness, injury, or personal emergency AND a written verification as described on link is provided on or before the last scheduled day of the tournament. Any withdrawal (other than for previously authorized entry into two concurrent tournaments) that does not meet the written verification requirements by the last scheduled day of the tournament will result in the player being levied suspension points and any match that is not played will be coded a Default.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES PROHIBITED ON COURT
Players may not use electronic devices on court that are designed for communication (cell phones, pda's, etc.) or data storage/display (pocket notebook, rolodex, word processor, etc.). Use of these devices will result in immediate code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct. (A device that is in the "ON" mode constitutes use.) Notes and printed material brought on court for reference with a player are permitted.

TOURNAMENT CHECK-IN AND MANDATORY MEETING
Check-in and a mandatory meeting will take place Friday, February 25th from 5:00-7:00 PM at our HOST HOTEL, the Courtyard Marriott which is located at 3501 Courtyard Way. If you have not previously faxed your Waiver and Release, please be prepared to turn it in at this time. Pizza will be served and we will have a raffle with great prizes. Early check-in starts at 5:00 PM with the mandatory player meeting at 6:00 PM folowed by pizza and prizes.

SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP SERVICE
We are thrilled to offer a short worship service on Sunday morning at 8:15 to our players and their families as well as our tournament staff and volunteers. The service will end at 8:30.

CERTIFIED ATHLETIC TRAINER
We will have a certified athletic trainer on site beginning at least one half hour before play begins each day and during all hours of play. If you have a pre-existing condition, please see the trainer upon arrival.

INDOOR BACK UP PLAN
We have no indoor courts that may be used in case of inclement weather.

AWARDS
A Gold Medallion is awarded to the singles and doubles winners and the Silver Medallion is awarded to the singles and doubles finalists. Third and fourth place finishers will also receive an award. Players reaching the FIC Finals will receive an award even though the FIC Final will not be held.

TOURNAMENT BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES
Players participating in the tennis tournament are required to abide by the tournament rules of behavior on and off the court in addition to The Code. These rules also apply to parents, coaches, siblings, and other guests of players. # No use of any “?uck” word (i.e. “suck”) either spoken or spelled. # No use of expressions of frustrations with references to deities (i.e. “Oh my God”, “Jesus”, “Christ”, “God”) either spoken or spelled. # No use of “freaking” or “frigging” or “fricking” or variations of such either spoken or spelled. ANYONE FOUND IN VIOLATION OF THESE RULES WILL BE SUBJECT TO A CODE VIOLATION.

DOUBLES
After the selection process is complete, but before 4 PM on Friday, February 25, 2011, please email aline@corta.org with your name and your partner's name. (even if you entered on-line) BOTH players must confirm their partner's name in an email. If you do not have a partner and still wish to enter without a partner, please send an email stating that you do not have a partner. During early check-in, we will attempt to help those of you who do not have a partner find one. Deadline for signing up with a parnter will be Friday, February 25, 2011 at 7 PM.

CONTACT INFORMATION
Tournament directors do not have access to phone numbers and email addresses of the tournament participants UNLESS the player re-enters their contact information at the time of the event registration. This means that if a player does not enter their phone number and email information each time they register for a tournament, the tournament director will not be able to contact them for any reason, including withdrawals, defaults, etc. Your cooperation will ensure that the tournament directors can continue to communicate necessary information to all of the tournament players.

4 players are selected for each site from the most recent National Standings List of the next lower age division and 28 players are selected for each site from the age division of the event
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, January 27, 2011 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
