Alternates
It is your responsibility to notify us if you plan to accept a spot in the draw if the opportunity arises. Time is now very limited. We cannot hold your spot open more than 12 hours before moving to the next alternate. Send us email or cell numbers if you are near the top of the list, please!! If you wish to be removed from the alternate list, please email that request to us, also. Many thanks.

DOUBLES:
Doubles play begins on Saturday afternoon (May 19th). Please email your partner's name if known; we will randomly assign unmatched players if possible. Deadline for doubles entry is Saturday, May 19th at 10 AM. We appreciate your help in doing this as soon as possible. Singles players and Singles alternates are eligible to enter the doubles event of a USTA National Open. A player may not enter one division in singles and a different division in doubles at sites where two divisions are held. No other players are eligible to play doubles.

MEDICAL RELEASE
MEDICAL RELEASE
USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. NOTE: A PLAYER'S COACH OR OTHER ADULT WHO IS NOT HE LEGAL GUARDIAN MAY NOT SIGN THE FORM FOR THE PLAYER. The form will be at the end of the confirmation email a player receives when they have been accepted into the tournament. This email should be printed by the parent or guardian, signed and brought to the tournament or alternatively this form can be faxed to us (478-477-0575) to speed up the registration process. PLAYERS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON-COURT WITHOUT THIS SIGNED RELEASE!

PLAYER MEETING AND REGISTRATION
PLAYER MEETING AND REGISTRATION
The player meeting will be at John Drew Smith Tennis Center Friday, May 18th @ 7 PM EST. All players must register for the tournament prior to playing their first match. Registration will take place only at John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Registration hours are Friday, May 18th from 4 - 7 pm EST or Saturday,May 19th from 7am-12 noon EST. After the initial registration, players should check-in at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled match at the assigned site. When a player checks in, it means that they are ready to play.

WITHDRAWALS
If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do it online. Click on edit registration, then withdraw. You will get a confirfimation number - KEEP THIS NUMBER! Without the confirmation number you will not have proof that you withdrew. All Withdrawals after entries close must be sent in writing by E-mail to maconten@bellsouth.net to the attention of Donna Bailey. Please be aware that if a player withdraws for any reason other than illness, injury, or a family emergency suspension points can be given to that player. Players withdrawing within 7 days of the tournament start date will not be refunded the entry fee. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN FOR WITHDRAWALS AFTER SATURDAY 5/12/2007 12 Midnight EST.

ALTERNATES
The Alternates by Event Report will be updated daily after entries close until the draws are posted. Contact us immediately if you realize that you cannot come. It is the alternates' responsibility to check the website to see if your alternate status has changed. The tournament will make every effort to contact you if your status does change to being in the tournament. You should make sure your contact information is correct on your membership profile. Once an alternate is selected for play, payment is due immediately. Our office accepts Visa and Mastercard only.

FORMAT AND SCORING
Singles Draw size will be 64 with a Feed-In Championship through the Quarters and 3/4 playoff. Singles Main Draw and Singles Feed in Championship will play the best two out of three tie-break sets. Only the top three (3) finishers qualify for the National Clay Court Championships. Doubles Draws will be a 32 single elimination with 3/4 playoff. Alternates who do not get into singles will be eligible to play doubles, space permitting. Doubles will play 8 game Pro Set with a 10 point match tie break at 8 games all. On-line doubles registration is preferred; however, for the players’ convenience, sign-up for doubles shall remain open until morning of ( 10 AM ) May 19th, and may be done by email, fax or on site. Players without a designated partner will be paired with another player. Doubles play will begin on Saturday, May 19th. The champions and finalists qualify for the National Clay Court Championships. In the event of inclement weather, match format is subject to change.

Matches
Players will play two singles matches the first day and one doubles ( Saturday May 19th ).
Singles Main Draw and Singles Feed in Championship will play the best two out of three tie-break sets.
Doubles will play 8 game Pro Set with a 10 point match tie break at 8 games all.

ON SITE ALTERNATES
On Site Alternates must inform the Referee in person they are on-site. On-Site Alternates will be selected in the order of the Alternates List. On Site Alternates should be on-site when their age and gender check in for play.

PRACTICE COURTS and WARM-UP DRILLS
Practice Courts at John Drew Smith will be available Friday May18th at no charge for USTA National Opens registered players from 12 Noon to 7 PM. You must check-in at the inside front desk. There is a backboard court at both JDS and Tattnall. Practice Courts will be available during the tournament at John Drew Smith from 6:30 AM -7:30 AM. All courts must be cleared no later than 7:30 AM. Players not cooperating with this policy are subject to penalty. Additional Practice courts are available May 19-22 at Macon State College from 8AM - 5PM. Tournament Warm-up Drills will be available at John Drew Smith Tennis Center. 1. Top 224 players applying from the latest USTA/National Standing List (Boys' or Girls' 14 singles) 2. Top 32 players ranked 200 or better applying from the USTA/National Standing List (Boys' or Girls 12 singles) 3. Remaining vacancies are filled by registered players from the USTA/National Standing List (Boys' or Girls' 14 Singles). 4. Remaining vacancies are filled by registered players from the USTA/National Standing List (Boys' or Girls' 12 Singles). Selections will be posted no later than May 5th, 2007. The names of players who have been selected appear as 'Competitors'.

This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a.

Players are selected from a designated Section or District ranking list.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, April 26, 2007 12 Noon Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
