NOON UPDATE
The tournament is officially canceled due to weather.

9:29AM UPDATE
The weather looks unsettled all day today and,at this point we probably would not be able to start any play until this afternoon. Rather than keep you on hold all day, we think the fairest thing to do is cancel the tournament and refund your money. Some of you are travelling a distance and I don't want you to come and possibly never get on the court.

We have another Open tournament coming up. We hope you will consider trying again. Thank you for your understanding and patience. We hope our communications have helped keep you as informed as possible.

Refunds are sent to me from USTA Norcal and the City of Berkeley. Please undestand I can not send your refund until I receive it from those two entities. I will email you again once I get the money to refund you.

7:28AM UPDATE
The tennis courts at both sites are wet, matches will be on a 2-hr rain delay. We will update again at 9:00am.

7:00PM UPDATE
New draws have been made. Because we need to finish the tournament in one day, we have changed the format for all matches. All main draw matches will be 8 game pro sets. Unfortunately, we are not able to play any consolation matches.

11:00AM UPDATE
Consider the tournament cancelled today and check the update on matches tomorrow. I will email you and update the website by 7:00pm.

9:00AM UPDATE
The weather looks unsettled all day and given the cold air, it is unlikely the courts will dry in time. But USTA rule prohibits us from cancelling the day until noon. So, please do not come to the tournament unless you receive another update from us saying it is dry. We will email you at 11:00am again.

DIRECTIONS: from 580 take Ashby exit. Go up Ashby, cross San Pablo Ave, Sacramento St. Make a left at Martin Luther King, tennis courts are right on Oregon.

The City of Berkeley requires all parents sign the City's Release of Liability form for each junior registered at the tournament. The release forms will be at the Tournament Desk and email.

For any questions about the tournament, please EMAIL both Scheduling Referee and Tournament Referee by email.

The DRAWS will not be posted until 10:am on Wednesday after the close of registration.

Single Matches
(1) Singles-First Match Loser Consolation round.
(2) All events: Regular scoring will be used.
(3) All singles Main Event: Format will be Best of 3 TB Sets with a tie-break (10 points) in lieu of a 3rd set.
In Singles events, a mandatory playoff match will determine the 3rd and 4th places.
(4) Consolation round will be an 8-game Pro Set (play a 7-points tie-breaker at 8 all).
(5) Check the on-line draw before you leave your home for changes.
(6) Be on time for your matches: Check-in at the tournament desk 15 minutes BEFORE your scheduled match times and be ready to play. Penalties for lateness will be enforced. You must remain within earshot of the tournament desk since failure to respond to the official announcement of your match could result in a default.
(7) The lateness penalty clock starts at the scheduled match time regardless of court availability.
(8) The Point Penalty system will be in effect.

Players Aged 12 years and Younger. To enter and play in a Challenger Tournament, player must first fulfill the pathway requirements.

The tournament reserves the right to limit the size of each of the draws and events.

Winners will receive trophies for 1st and 2nd places and medals for 3rd and 4th places in the Singles.

Water and healthy snacks will be provided.

Off-street parking is available next to the tennis courts.
