Come prepared to play outdoors on Monday morning. Decision will be made by 7 am about moving indoors.

The tournament will be using Hard Courts 6-15. Tournament Registration and Match check in will be iinside to the left after the first flight of stairs . After 8:45 am, courts 14 and 15 will be practice courts, Please share. The tournament does not have permission to use the indoor courts.

First match times for SINGLES ONLY are posted above under TOURNAMENT REPORTS. Everyone should plan to play first DOUBLES match at 9 AM SATURDAY.

DOUBLES FIRST MATCH TIMES
Doubles will begin Saturday morning at 9 am. Registration and partner designation for doubles closes at 7 pm Friday. Draws will be up Friday night before 9 pm. Everyone should be prepared to play at 9 am Saturday. We will also play a second round of doubles not before 4:30 pm on Saturday afternoon. Match times for the afternoon matches will be posted by 1 PM.

WEEKEND WEATHER
Be prepared for a very cold weekend. Matches will be played outdoors on hard courts. No rain or snow is expected during the tournament, but we would still like for everyone to join the rainedout group. We can still use it for other reasons to communicate with the players.

REGISTRATION / No Mandatory Meeting / Doubles Pairings
Tournament Registration will be at the LIFETIME Fitness, 6350 Courtside Drive Norcross, GA 30092, beginning at 7:30 am Saturday. Be sure to have your Medical Release Form completed and ready to submit. Thank you for bringing the completed medical release form with you to the tournament.
Doubles pairing must be finalized by 6 pm. Players without partners can meet to pair up after registration ends.
Mandatory meeting - No meeting. Meeting Notes will be posted on the tournament website.

MEETING NOTES
Welcome to G12 National Selection Tournament!
1. Weather
announcements will be posted on the tournament website. Also please register for Rainedout.net
to receive text messages for updates on rain delays and other messages. Group Name is G12 Nat’l Selection. Instructions for registering are on tournament website.
2. Match
format: SINGLES - Best of 3 tiebreak
sets with a 10-point Match tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set
DOUBLES
– 8-game pro set with 7 point Tiebreak at 8 games all.
Regular
scoring for singles and doubles.
3. Check in
for Matches –9am matches will have a shot gun start. Find your court assignment
on the court board at the tournament desk and report to your court w/o checking
into the desk unless you have not registered into the tournament. For subsequent matches be at site 30 minutes
prior to your scheduled match time to check in at the desk. Be sure you have submitted your Medical Release form prior your first match!!
4. COACHING
is only allowed ON COURT during 3 minute break before match tie breaks for the
3rd set. The 3 minutes begins at the end of the last point of the 2nd set. Official will call time at 2.5 minutes You are allowed to
use a cell phone on court during the 3 minute break. Be sure to notify an official when you split,
prior to using a cell phone or talking with your coach.
Coaching includes any
instructions to the player about their play or attitude.
5. Play will
be subject to the rules of the USTA with the POINT PENALTY SYSTEM in effect
throughout the tournament. There will be a certified roving official for every
4 courts. Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated during or after the
matches. This includes behavior in the hotels.
6. Facility
Rules are posted on the Tournament Website and also included in your
packet. Be aware that use of the listed
words are subject to a code violation.
7. LEAVING
THE COURT – DO NOT leave your court without trying to notifying an official.
This includes bathroom break. If you
split sets, notify the official - Coaching will be ON COURT!
8. REPORT
SCORES immediately after your match is completed. The Winner and Loser should
verify the reported scores. The winner should collect the balls and return them
to the tournament desk. Winners and
Losers are responsible for checking the Match Board for their next match
time. The referee will be glad to assist
you with this.
9. CELL
PHONES may be left on vibrate while on court. Other ELECTRONIC DEVICES should be turned off while on court. If your phone rings, the opponent can stop play and claim a deliberate hindrance loss of point. No penalty if ringing is not during a point. Please ask your parents and coaches to refrain
from talking on their cell phones near the courts. All spectators should have
their phones on vibrate.
10. TRAINER
will be available at LifeTime Fitness.

SEEDING CRITERIA
Seeding will be done using National Singles Seeding List of
February 4th. Doubles will use the Feb 4th Doubles Seeding List. Click more information about seeding.

FORMAT
The draw sizes for this tournament location are 32 in
singles and 16 in doubles.
Singles draw will have a Feed-in Championship (FIC) that
feeds in through the Round of 16.
The Quarterfinal losers will be fed into a separate draw to
playoff for 5th and 6th place.
The FIC will be played to completion. The FIC shall be
considered part of the tournament and participation is mandatory for all
singles main draw players.
Singles and Doubles will have a playoff for 3rd
and 4th place. All players are required to play the third and fourth
place playoff.
SCORING FORMAT for G12
All Singles: Best of 3 Tiebreak Sets with a 10-point Match Tiebreak in Lieu of a 3rd
Set.
Doubles: 8 Game Pro Set with a 7-point Tiebreak at 8 games
all. Regular scoring in singles and doubles.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE
Standardized Tournament Schedule: Saturday:2 round of Doubles (am & pm), 2 rounds of Main draw , 1 round of Consolation. Sunday:1 rounds of Doubles, 2 rounds of Main draw, 2 rounds of Consolation, 1 round QF Losers Playoff. Monday: F and 3/4 PO of Singles; F QF Playoff; SF and F of Consolation, F of Doubles.
SF, F, 3/4 PO of Singles and Doubles will be chaired.

TOURNAMENT FACILITY RULES
This tournament uses conduct rules above and beyond those enforced by the
USTA.
Players
are required to abide by these facility rules of behavior on and off of the
court.
The
list below indicates the Facility Behavior Rules
• No use of the word "suck"
or any form of the word, spoken or spelled.
• No use of expressions of
frustrations with references to deities (i.e. "Oh My God",
"Jesus", "Jesus Christ", "Christ",
"God") either spoken or spelled.
• No use of "freaking", "frigging",
or "fricking" or variations of such words either spoken or spelled.
In addition to the language restrictions, please adhere to the following: NO PETS POLICY NO OUTSIDE FOOD ALLOWED IN THE CAFE NO SMOKING ON THE PROPERTY

ON SITE ALTERNATES
On-Site
alternates may check in during Tournament Registration on FRIDAY from 4 until 6 PM OR contact the referee to place your name on the On-Site list. On SATURDAY, on-site alternates must check with
the Referee 15 minutes before the first match time and should be prepared to
play if a spot becomes available. If there is more than one on-site
alternate, available spots will be filled according to the published ordered
alternates list.

DOUBLES PARTNERS
Please check your doubles event. 1. If you have a partner and she is NOT listed by YOUR name, please email the tournament to confirm your partner. 2. If you are not playing doubles but your name is in the doubles event, please email the tournament to remove your name. 3. If you are playing doubles but your name is not in the event, please email the tournament to add your name. 4. If you do not have a partner, use the Facebook group to help find a partner. BOTH players must confirm the pairing.

FREEZE DATE
A player that appears on the
acceptance list of a USTA Regional Tournament and a USTA National Selection
Tournament alternate list that desires to remain on the alternate list for the
USTA National Selection Tournament must withdraw from the USTA Regional
Tournament by the FREEZE DEADLINE. Such
player shall be required to send an email to the TD of both tournaments by the
Freeze Deadline stating this preference and the player shall be refunded their
entry fee by the USTA Regional Tournament.
Any player that fails to email their preference to withdraw
from a USTA Regional Tournament and
remains as an alternate for the USTA National Selection Tournament shall not be
permitted after the Freeze Deadline to withdraw from the USTA Regional
Tournament and accept a spot in the USTA National Selection Tournament
draw. Any violation of this policy will result
in the levying of 4 suspension points for withdrawing from a tournament to play
in another.

LATE ENTRIES
Late entries will be accepted by email only - NO PHONE CALLS. Send email to the Tournament Director AND copy the Referee.
Late entries will be placed on an alternate list after all on-time entries in the order they were received. If a player affects the seeding, they will not be allowed entry into the tournament.

DOUBLES REGISTRATION
If you plan to play doubles, you may indicate that on your
online entry form with your confirmed partner's name. After online registration both players must email the Referee at chelton48@yahoo.com to confirm your pairing. You may also
register for doubles on Friday, February 12th at LIFETIME FITNESS during the tournament registration from 4:00
pm to 6:00 pm. No doubles registrations will be taken after 6:30 pm. on Friday, Feb 12. If you do not have a partner but want to play in the doubles event,
there will be a sign up sheet during the tournament registration at the
tournament desk to assist you in finding a partner. At the conclusion of registration at 6:00 pm on Friday, players without partners will meet at 6pm to pair up.

ALTERNATES
Tournament Committees shall order
the alternates as follows:
* Players from the National Standings List of the
division used to select players into the tournament in the order in which
their names appear on this List; * The remaining entrants in an order determined by lot. * Late entrants shall be listed below these players by
the date and time on which the late entry is made. If multiple late
entries are received at the same time, they shall be ordered by lot. Late entrants are not ordered by position on the National Standings List.

PRACTICE COURTS/PRO WARM UPS
PRO WARM UP/HITTING PARTNER AFTER SELECTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE, If you are in need of a Tennis Pro to warm up you child, you can call and arrange a time with the Tournament Director at 404-427-3457 All payments must be paid in advance before the warm up, you can pay cash or credit card. The cost is $50 for an hour or $30 for an half an hour.

SMART RACKET TECHNOLOGY
Information gathered from Smart Rackets/Clothing technology may only be collected and observed during authorized rest periods when coaching is allowed.

STRINGING SERVICES
There will be an experienced stringer at LifeTime Fitness during the tournament.
|
TRAINER ONSITE
One trainer will be on site during matches. By law, trainers are not allowed to distribute any medicine. Please bring your own Tylenol, Advil, Sinus Medicine, etc. If you have an injury or illness, we strongly suggest you see the trainer. If you need to withdraw due to injury or illness, the process will be much smoother if we have confirmation from the trainer. Without confirmation, or a written doctors excuse by the end of the tournament, you may incur suspension points for leaving. Remember if you withdraw during the tournament, you must see the Referee in person or it will count as a "No Show"

SELECTION PROCESS
Players are accepted into the draws
and given preference in their choice of site in the following order:
The top 128 Girls' 12 Singles players applying from the USTA/National
Standing List (Jan 13) will be accepted.
Players not selected for their first
choice shall remain in the pool of applicants for entry into other concurrent
USTA National Selection Tournaments. Those players who have not been
selected after all four USTA National Selection Tournament draws have been
filled shall be placed in alternate pools at all concurrent USTA National Selection
Tournaments for which the players indicated a preference.
The Tennis Link system will select players
for these divisions in the following order: 18s, 16s, 14s, and 12s. If a player is entered in two age divisions
and IS selected into the older division, that player shall not be eligible for
selection in the younger division. If
a player is NOT selected for the older division, that player is eligible for
selection in the younger division and is eligible to be an alternate in the
younger division, but NOT the older division.

FACEBOOK GROUP FOR DOUBLES
A FaceBook group has been created for players to communicate the need for a doubles partner. Please do NOT put your email address or phone numbers in the comments. This group is CLOSED which means only members can read posts by other members. Click on the "more info" link and request membership in the group. Once membership is approved you will be able to write comments about need for a partner. Players (parents) should message through Facebook to make contact with prospective partner.
