On Site Alternates - Saturday
Players on the singles alternates list that are interested in playing in singles and/or doubles must sign in at the tournament desk by 8:40 am. Should an opening arise, the on-site alternate with the lowest number on the singles alternate list will be chosen to play. When signing in to be an on-site alternate, players will be asked to fill out the appropriate tournament release form, which must be signed by a parent not a coach.

DIRECTIONS:
Please follow the directions below, do not follow your GPS to Hance Avenue, it will take you to the gated community behind the club. George Washington Bridge to the New Jersey Turnpike South. Travel to Exit 11. Take the Garden State Parkway, using local exits after the Driscoll Bridge to Exit 109, Red Bank. At the traffic light, turn left. Travel 1 1/2 miles to the fourth traffic light. Make a right onto Shrewsbury Avenue. Go 3/4 mile to the third traffic light (you wll pass McDonald's and Wendy's on your right). Make a right onto Gilbert Street North. MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS
MEDICAL RELEASE FORMS It is MANDATORY that ALL players turn in a medical release form BEFORE being permitted to start their first match! NO EXCEPTIONS! Please scan and email to Jphillips204@verizon.net or bring with you to check in for your first match. If you bring the form with you, please have it filled out and signed by a parent PRIOR to checking in. The form must be signed by a parent not a coach. Medical form can be downloaded from the USTA website by searching for "2016 Medical Release Form"

CHECK IN
Check in for the tournament will be held on Friday, May 27th between 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the New Shrewsbury Racquet Club. Please bring your USTA release forms with you to check in. You will not be able to participate in the tournament if we do not have your forms. The club will provide practice courts starting at 6:00 pm on Friday night. If you cannot check in on Friday night, you must email me before Friday. You may check in on Saturday, 1 Hour before the matches start. No exceptions!!!

PRACTICE COURTS
Friday night there will be practice courts from 6:00 - 8:30 pm during the check in. Saturday and Sunday there will be practice court at 8:00 am. Saturday, Sunday, Monday all courts will be available as a walk on. Players are expected to share the courts, four players per court. Coaches and parents will not be permitted to hit on the courts. Courts may not be reserved.

SATURDAY MATCHES:
On Saturday please be prepared to play 2 singles matches and 2 doubles matches.

ALTERNATES
National Selection Tournament- 32 Draw (February, May, & October) SELECTION PROCEDURE: Players are accepted into the draws and given preference in their choice of site in the following order: * Up to 24 (6 per draw) that are in the top 100 of the National Standings List of the next-younger age division. * Up to 104 (26 per draw) from the National Standings List of the division. * If vacancies remain, players that are in the top 400 of the National Standings List of the division. * If vacancies remain, players that are in the top 250 of the National Standings List of the next-younger division. * If vacancies remain, from the National Standings List of the division until draws full. Alternates. Players not selected for their first choice shall remain in the pool of applicants for entry into other concurrent USTA National Selection Tournaments. Those players who have not been selected after all four USTA National Selection Tournaments draws have been filled shall be placed in alternate pools at all concurrent USTA National Selection Tournaments for which the players indicated a preference.
Alternate Ordering Procedure: * Players that are in the top 500 of the National Standings List of the division * Players that are in the top 400 on the National Standings List of the next-younger division * From the National Standings List of the division * From the National Standings List of the next-younger division * By Lot Late Entries: Late entries shall be placed on the alternate list in the order received after timely entries. Late entries received at the same time shall be ordered by lot. (See USTA Regulation I.H.4.)

Doubles Format
Single elimination: 8-game pro set with Set Tiebreak (first to 7 points and win by 2) at 8 games all.

SINGLES FORMAT:
12s : Best of 3 Tiebreak sets and a Match Tiebreak (first to 10 by 2) in lieu of a 3rd set. After 2nd set when Match Tiebreak is played in lieu of 3rd set, mandatory 3-minute rest period during which no player shall practice. Coaching is allowed during the 3-minute rest period..

DOUBLES:
The following players are eligible to enter the doubles event of a USTA National Selection Tournament: Singles players, Singles alternates, NO other players are eligible to play doubles. If you are eligible to play doubles and would like to play, please email me at: Jphillips204@verizon.net and will be happy to help you find and contact a partner. If you want to be a doubles team, both players must email me. It is your responsibility to check that you are paired as a team. Doubles teams must be paired before May 22nd.

FREEZE DEADLINE
What is the Freeze Deadline?
The Freeze Deadline is the deadline by which a player that is on the alternate list of the higher level tournament and the accepted player list of the lower level tournament has to commit to being on one list. The Freeze Date for all concurrent national tournaments shall be 11:59 a.m. ET 16 days before the start date of the concurrent tournament scheduled to start first, or such other time as is published on the tournament website. For example, if the earlier of two concurrent national tournaments is scheduled to begin on the 17th of the month, the Freeze Deadline shall be 11:59 am ET on the 1st of the month.
Prior to Freeze Deadline
Prior to the Freeze Deadline, a player may appear as both an alternate for the higher level concurrent tournament and as an accepted player at a lower level concurrent tournament. Prior to the Freeze Deadline, any such player that is offered and accepts a place on the acceptance list of the higher level tournament shall be permitted to withdraw from the lower level tournament without penalty and play in the higher level tournament.
After the Freeze Deadline
After the Freeze Deadline, a player may ONLY appear as EITHER an alternate for the higher level tournament OR as an accepted player at the lower level tournament. A player not yet selected for any tournament may continue to appear on the alternate lists of multiple concurrent tournaments.
Player Obligation by the Freeze Deadline
A player that appears on the acceptance list of the lower level tournament and a higher level tournament alternate list that desires to remain on the alternate list for the higher level tournament must withdraw from the lower level tournament by the Freeze Deadline. Such a player shall be required to send an email to the Tournament Directors of both tournaments by the Freeze Deadline stating this preference and the player shall be refunded their entry fee by the lower level tournament.
Any player that fails to email their preference to withdraw from a lower level tournament and remain as an alternate for the higher level tournament shall not be permitted after the Freeze Deadline to withdraw from the lower level tournament and accept a spot in the higher level tournament draw. Any violation of this policy will result in the levying of 4 suspension points for withdrawing from a tournament to play in another

Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, April 28, 2016 11:59:00 AM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
