After discussions with National Junior Competitive, we received approval to move the matches for today to indoor courts. We will be posting new match times by 8:30 AM, and no matches will begin at the indoor courts until 9:30 AM, allowing all player ample time to reach their match location. PRACTICE COURTS
Please note that the indoor courts may be available for warm-up for a short period of time each day before matches begin. Once matches begin, all available courts at the indoor locations allotted to us have been necessarily allocated to match play, as match play is the priority. However, if the facilities do have courts open up, players are welcome to rent the courts for practice. In addition, McLeland Tennis Center in Fort Worth, (817) 921-5134, has two indoor courts available for rental.

FORECAST and INDOOR BACKUP PLANS
The
current weather forecast for all three days of this National Selection
Tournament is RAIN. As a result, we have arranged for a limited number of
indoor courts in the event the forecast is correct. The indoor courts are
within 30 minutes or less from Arlington Tennis Center, and THEY ARE RESERVED FOR TOURNAMENT MATCHES
ONLY, not for player practice / warm-up.
If it
is necessary to move matches to indoor courts, we will likely utilize alternate
scoring and formats due to the limited number of courts and time frame
availability. We do understand that many of you have traveled a very long way,
and we want everyone to enjoy their experience in Arlington, rain or shine!
However, if the rain continues throughout most of the tournament, it may be
necessary to shorten the tournament in the following order:
o
Cancellation of Singles Consolation
o
Cancellation of Doubles
Please be assured that we will make
every effort to play as much of the tournament as possible, and we will not
cancel any aspect of the tournament unless absolutely necessary.
We
will post status updates on the tournament website, including updated match
times and locations, if applicable, BY 7:00 AM on Saturday morning. Players may also obtain general information
on tournament status by calling the ATC program information line, 817-459-6166.
