Due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, USTA Southern has canceled all Southern Level 1 and Level 2 events scheduled to be held now through August 31st.

NEW LOCATIONS DETERMINED
In an effort to be overly cautious with your children and your health, the USTA Southern Level 1 BG 12’s will no longer be held in Cary, NC due to the new COVID-19 guidelines that have been implemented for the city of Cary, NC. As a result of this, USTA Southern has split this tournament into two new sites for the boys and girls.

VIRTUAL TOURNAMENT DESK **MANDATORY FOR ALL PLAYERS**
For the safety of all Tournament players, parents, coaches and staff we will NOT be using a physical tournament desk where social gathering is most common. We instead will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk to help facilitate CDC guidelines for social distancing. WARM-UP 8am MATCHES
Warm up courts are available before the day
begins for first matches only. If you
are on the top line of the bracket for the 8am match warm up
time is 7-7:20. If you are on the bottom line of the bracket for the 8 am match
your warm up time will be 7:30-7:50. All
8am matches will start on time.

Doubles
Please be aware that players should not register for doubles as all age divisions of the 2020 Southern Closed Championships will now not offer doubles in order to follow USTA & Southern guidelines for player safety. If you have already registered, you will not be charged.

Standing Points
Please note that the 2020 Southern Closed Championships will now be counted for National Level 4 points and 2021 Level 4 shadow ranking. Players will still receive Southern Level 1 points.

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKS AT TOURNAMENTS
While at tournaments, please maintain a distance of 6 ft between yourself and people who don’t live in your household. Also, everyone should wear a mask at tournaments when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

PLAYERS ARE ALLOWED ONE GUEST ON-SITE
We are allowing 1 spectator per player. The
spectator will be given a wrist band and will need to wear the wristband during
the event. It is very important we follow the social distancing guidelines. We
will be using 1 entrance in and out. This is per Covid Guidelines for Tournament.

PLAYER AND GUEST RESPONSIBILITIES
Items for you to adhere to during Covid Times. 1 Bring a chair to ensure social distancing on and off court for player and guest. While there are benches on court if both courts break at a similar time the second court will not be able to use bench. you will need to set up your chair to maintain social distancing. 2 Bring your own water and ice. There will be no water on courts and zero ice is available. 3 Umbrella for shade 4 There are no scoring devises on court. A pad of paper will be on court for players to write down score on change of ends. Please confirm scores before you leave court. You will need to enter your score on Match-App. 5 Bring all 6 balls off court and drop in boxes at umpire stations on the ground. Stations will be in groups of 4 courts. 6 Anything left on court will be thrown away. 7 Player and Guest will be required to exit facility within 10 minutes of match ending. 8 Masks must be worn in the rest rooms at all times. If you are in the middle of a match, for the safety of everyone you must where your mask to the restroom. 9 Everyone must wear a mask into the site. Once you are seated 6 feet apart you may lower your mask. You must wear your mask to the court. With each player only allowed one guest there will never be more than 2 people watching a court at once. 10 You may NOT enter facility until 15 minutes before match time. You will be called to the facility and given your court number to go to through Match app.com 11 You will be given a wrist band to be on site each day. We want everyone to understand this is for the protection of all. During these times it will take a lot of cooperation for tournaments to continue to provide a safe environment.

Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, July 14, 2020 3:00:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
