Cook County and Chicago Restrictions
Both the City of Chicago and Cook County now have travel restrictions for those returning from a number of
states that are experiencing increases in COVID-19 activity. As such, all District Championship events will be
following these directives from public health officials.
States identified in the City of Chicago Emergency Travel Order and Cook County’s Travel Guidance are:
Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, North
Carolina, Nevada, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Utah. Please be aware that the list of
states is updated every Tuesday and goes into effect the following Friday at 12:01 a.m. As such, the above list
of states and players affected could change. If that is the case, we will send out updated information.
You can learn more about Cook County’s Travel Guidance at:
https://cookcountypublichealth.org/communicable-diseases/covid-19/covid-19-travel-guidance/
You can learn more about the City of Chicago Emergency Travel Order at:
https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/covid-19/home/emergency-travel-order.html
Based on these public health advisories, the following policies will be in affect at the Chicago District
Championships.
COVID-19 Entry Policies
• NO player will be allowed entry to this tournament if they have been to one of the states
included in either the Chicago Emergency Travel Order of the Cook County Emergency Travel Guidance
within 14 days of August 1st. In other words, if any player was in one of the identified states after July 18,
2020, that player cannot compete and MUST withdraw from the tournament.
• NO spectators, parents, or coaches who have been to one of the states included in either travel
advisory will be allowed entry to the events listed above.
• A negative COVID-19 test does not eliminate the need for quarantining after being in one of the
identified states.
• Should a player enter one of these events and later be found to have been to one of the states
included without quarantining for 14 days afterward, that player will immediately be removed from the
tournament.
