TOURNAMENT/FACILITY SAFETY PROCEDURES
Due to the ongoing concerns of COVID-19, tournaments, tournament participants, and spectators are expected to follow the Arkansas Department of Health’s Directive for Community and School Sponsored Team Sports. Please click on the link above to view the ADH Directives.
Facility Procedures/Guidelines: *The tournament desk will be located on the south side of the tournament building near court 19. *Restrooms at the tournament building will be open. *A cooler will be set up near the tournament desk with iced down bottles of water. There will be a volunteer wearing gloves to hand out a bottle of water to anyone that needs one. Players cannot reach in themselves and get a bottle of water. *Bleachers will be available for seating. There will be taped Xs on the bleachers where spectators will be allowed to sit and safely be 6 feet away from other spectators. *In case of rain, players should immediately come to the tournament desk to report scores and wait for further instructions. *Players check-in at the tournament desk 30 minutes prior to their match time. At the end of a match, the winner will immediately report the match score and return balls to the tournament desk. *Each court has a score card to be utilized by players.
Safety Procedures: *Do NOT play if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 (click the link above to view CDC Guidelines), or are not feeling well. *Social distancing (6 ft) is required at all times. *Per the ADH Directive regarding face coverings---Face coverings are required for everyone present, except for children under 10 years of age, who are exempt. For outdoor venues, once attendees are seated and maintaining 6 feet physical distance from others, face coverings may be removed. However, if moving around where social distancing is not achievable, or if you are in any area where there is confinement such that 6 feet distancing cannot be maintained, the face-covering must be put back in place. Athletes, Coaches and Officials may be without a face covering during active play. *Wash your hands before AND after play. *Bring your own hand sanitizer. *Bring your own equipment. This includes water bottles, towels, or any other personal equipment (store inside of your tennis bag when not in use). *Maintain a safe, physical distance between yourself and your opponent during the racquet spin at the start of the match. *Maintain physical distancing if changing ends of the court. *Avoid touching the net, fences, and gates as much as possible. *If a ball comes onto your court from another court, use your racquet to send the ball back. *Clearly verbalize the score at the start of each point, especially if scorekeepers are not on the courts. *After the match, do NOT shake hands—do a racquet tap, nod, thumbs up or “good match”, then leave the court and go report scores immediately. *Pick up the balls after your match and return them to the tournament desk.
