COVID 2020 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND GUIDELINES
These updates are fluid and will change as local authorities adjust safety measures.
Players must check-in using a cell phone and the app REMIND. To join the tournament messaging system and to communicate with the tournament director text the message @modlevel2 to the number 81010.
Only ONE spectator allowed on site per player and they must wear a mask and practice social distancing. The player will be given two wristbands per day, one to wear while playing, and one for their spectator. Any spectator without a wristband will be asked to wait in their cars or leave the facility. This rule will be strictly enforced.
One restroom is available on site. There is no use of the tennis house to fill water jugs or access the ice machine
Players must wear masks entering and exiting the courts, also while on site
All staff will wear masks and stay 6 feet away all players
Players can only enter and exit the courts once approved by a court monitor and they have sanitized their hands.
When the match is finished, do not shake hands. A touch of the racquets is acceptable.
Only one player changes the scorecards and players must put their bags on opposite sides of the court. The player with the last name first in the alphabet will turn the score cards.
Players will be expected to leave the facility once their match is done

USTA/Midwest COVID-19 Safety Procedures
The
COVID-19 procedures and policies in place by the USTA/Midwest Section for this
event are as follows:
* First and foremost, if
you are not feeling well, please withdraw from the event. If you are a
spectator and not feeling well, please stay home.
* Player +1 for the entire
event. Only one person is going to be allowed with each player.
* The water fountains will
not be accessible for the duration of the event. Please bring plenty of
water for matches.
* Social distancing will
be strongly encouraged in addition to wearing a face mask.
* We encourage bringing
your own chair to watch any matches outdoors.
* Do not enter the
facility until 10-15 minutes before your scheduled match time.
* There will be no
handshakes at the conclusion of matches.
* Once match results have
been turned in, we request you leave the facility immediately. Only
players are to approach the tournament desk. Please keep a safe distance
when doing so.
* All tournament staff
will be wearing masks.

Important USTA 2021 Changes
The USTA will be launching a new, simplified nationwide junior tournament competitive structure in January, 2021. These changes will create a standardized system that will drive greater consistency for our players, parents, coaches, tournament directors and officials. These changes will help better address the needs of all our constituents with the goals of driving growth in USTA Junior Tournaments. PRACTICE COURT AND PLAY SITE INFO
On Saturday August 1st and Sunday August 2nd, all 14 tennis courts at host side, Carmel High School, are available for warmup starting at 7:00 am until 7:45am.
Possible alternative practice or warmup sites include:

PLAYER SELECTION & SEEDING
This tournament will use a combination of USTA/Midwest Points Per Round and Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) for player selection and seeding. Players will be selected for the tournament in the following order: 1 - 22 Players based on the most recent USTA/Midwest Standings List in the age division of the tournament 2 - 10 Players based on UTR Players will be seeded for the tournament in the following order: All 8 seeds are done using UTR. POINTS PER ROUND
This tournament carries with it Level 2 USTA/Midwest points per round and National Level 4 points. It also carries National Level 3 doubles points. For more information on USTA/Midwest points per round, please visit the following link:

MATCH SCORING/DRAW SIZE
Feed-in consolation draw (through the quarterfinals). All matches are best of three tie-break sets with a 10-point tie-breaker in lieu of a 3rd set. 32 FICQ.
There are no doubles with this tournament.

SATURDAY - 3 rounds of main draw and 2 rounds of consolation singles. SUNDAY - 2 rounds of main draw and 3 rounds of consolation singles.

TOURNAMENT FEES
1) If your credit card has been declined, please contact the tournament director immediately. You have until noon Monday to pay the entry fee. The tournament director has the option to withdraw you from the competitors list if you have not communicated with them. 2) No refunds after player selection.
