6:35 WEATHER UPDATE
It's wet here, but not raining. Progressing this morning with 8am matches as scheduled. That could change at any moment. Future forecast doesn't look very promising. Note: I have 6 Indoor courts down the road in Owensboro (with outdoor potential on site as well). May take advantage of that if we begin to get rain. I will update here as things change

7/10 DIRECTOR' NOTE
Please read all of this information as well as other directives on the website... *THE TOURNAMENT DESK will be at an independent picnic/gazebo area (not the one attached to restrooms). No one except authorized individuals will be allowed in this area for everyone's safety. *PARTY VIEWING: We are allowed a certain limit around the tennis courts. We will be fine with 2 members of the player's party watching singles matches behind the fenced areas. Where I especially need help is in doubles. Please limit the viewer for each player to 1 person for all doubles matches. I have to answer to the local parks and rec as well as the local health dept. They will be in attendance. The tourney referee, my wife, and I have the authority to enforce all corona restrictions. HAND SANITIZER: Will be available at a table in front of the tournament desk. Each player should use hand sanitizer before and after each match. *WAIVERS: Sorry, but I couldn't find a way to get them to you online. Waivers will be on a table in front of the tournament desk. Please take one of each and fill out, away from the desk. These will be turned in to the referee prior to first match. Please leave a little extra time before first match to take care of this. To adhere to health dept directive, I need each player to list all members of his/her party on the back of the Corona Waiver. Please include names of each person in attendance, addresses and phone numbers. Just write on the empty back page of the Corona Waiver. Thank you for doing this. It is necessary. NO SCORECARDS: Apologize for this inconvenience, however, this is necessary as well. So, please inform your player of this and instruct them to be vigilant in announcing the score. Note: parents can't intervene in scoring discrepancies. MATCH PROCEDURE 1. When scheduled time is near, player should report to the tourney desk area (gazebo). Be within shouting distance of director. 2. Referee will escort players to the court when match is called. 3. If first match, player will turn in both waivers to the referee. Don't forget to list names, addresses and phone numbers of each member of the party in attendance. Please do this on the back of the Corona Waiver. 4. After match, both players should report scores to the desk while social distancing.

7/7 Director's Note
Reminder that there is no bleacher seating due to Coronavirus. Please bring your own if you wish. You may also wish to provide a chair for your player. There are long benches (probably long enough to observe the 6 foot distancing), but feel free to provide one. We will not use scorecards to minimize possible spreading. Also, we will have no water on the courts. Restrooms are available.

6/28 Director's Note
After running through a couple Coronavirus revisions with the local parks and rec and also consulting the local health dept., I've been given the green light to go ahead with the tourney. I will post the accommodations that must be adhered to in the space below. Please read all the accommodations that follow on this page and please don't enter if you, your child and others traveling with you can't accept the accommodations required at this time. Please know that directives are fluid, and this tourney will have to continue to follow the guidelines that come from sources well above my head. Personally, I think they are fair and "doable." Many of us and our kids are chomping at the bit to get tennis rolling again. This can be done. However, like most other areas, it will just be different, adjusted. Finally you will be asked to sign the normal tournament waiver as well as a virus waiver whereby you accept the implicit risk of participating in this tourney. I hope you enjoy Bowling Green and take advantage of the tennis tourney we can offer. Please let me know if I can answer any of your questions.

6/22 DIRECTOR'S NOTE
This is listed as a 3 day tourney. However, only doubles will be played on Fri. No singles matches will start before Saturday morning. If I get high number of entries, we will play doubles on Friday. If a lower number, doubles will be played on Saturday and Sunday. I mention this so you can register accordingly. If this tourney can be completed on a single day, that day will be Saturday.
More than normal, procuring courts is problematic. The main site will be Kereiakes Park. I'm currently trying to get high school courts. There are several good ones in the area, but these can't be booked yet. And I probably won't know until the first of July. This becomes a problem only of entries are pretty high. If the numbers are so high, and a secondary site is impossible due to the virus, scoring modifications will be considered such as using short sets. All of this will be communicated to you here in advance of the tourney.

*Players must register for either the INTERMEDIATE or ADVANCED
division and that selection will be final once the registration
deadline passes.
*Players with a residence in the state of Kentucky will be given
first priority in filling of draws. If a draw is not filled, then
players from outside of the state of Kentucky can be accepted into
the draw.
*Level 4 Tournaments will have two balanced 16 draws created by
using the waterfall method.
*Seeds shall be awarded on a 1:3 ratio using the "Power of Two". If
a division has 11 or fewer players, 1 or 2 players shall be seeded.
If a division has between 12-23 players, 4 players shall be seeded.
If a division has between 24-47 players, 8 players shall be
seeded.
*Players who play in an older age division will have their Southern
ranking tripled and use that number to determine their place in the

Players without a Southern ranking will use their section's ranking
as a replacement.
All singles matches will be 2 of 3 sets with a Match tiebreaker in
stead of a 3rd set. A back draw or round robin will be used for
singles. Doubles will be single elimination, 8 game pro-set.
