Tournament Updates
Weather or other important information will appear here as well as communication center.
We are all experienced tournament players and know that forecast and weathermen are not always right and we have to wait until weather is “actually” happening to make schedule changes.
Rule of thumb: Respond to weather, not to forecasts per USTA Texas The handling of weather is one of the tournament director’s biggest challenges.
HTA will update all communications by Saturday 6:00 am with further updates at 7:00 am, if raining.
The HTA office is 3535 Briarpark. Do not go to that site as it is HTA admin office only, no tennis courts.
Please refer to to the tournament homepage for information and as communication will appear there, as well as, through the communication center.

IMPT: Monday Withdrawal Rule - Please Read
Players are required to inform the tournament desk or tournament director the day before of their intent not to complete their matches on the last day of the tournament. This must occur no later than 6pm Sunday for singles draws that end on Monday. It also can be done within 15 minutes of completing their final match of the day (whichever is later). For this tournament, all players must inform the site or tournament director by Sunday at 6pm for Monday (1/20) matches. The director will inform the opponent immediately of any withdrawals. Players who pull out after Sunday at 6pm will have their match coded as a withdrawal and will receive no points for their wins in that tournament. If a player gets injured or ill after that 6pm deadline and they think it's important to "keep their ranking points" they (the player) will need to physically show up on Monday morning and pull out in person in order to have that match coded a walkover and retain their points.

Withdrawal Penalty for Super Champ Level Tournaments
There will be no penalty for withdrawing from singles or doubles prior to the Wednesday before the tournament at 12 Noon for Super Champ Level Major Zone events. After that time, if a player withdraws from singles and/or doubles, they will be penalized 2 suspension points for the withdrawal. This includes any withdrawals, walkovers, and retirements after Wednesday at Noon until the end of the tournament. The maximum penalty is 2 points per tournament. You will not be penalized twice for singles and doubles withdrawals. If a player does reach the suspension threshold, they will be able to appeal any points at that time.
|
Doubles Substitutions
Doubles substitutions for withdrawals are now allowed up to 2 hour prior to the team's match time. The substitute must also be registered for the same age division of singles.
|
Doubles Registration
Players may register with or without a partner. Those who register with a partner must indicate their partner through the online registration system before the entry deadline. Players will need to correctly identify their doubles partner during their initial registration process or they may go back later, prior to the entry deadline, and “Edit Registration” to indicate their partner of choice. Correct doubles registration is the player’s responsibility. Immediately after registration, players need to check the Applicant List to ensure they are registered with their partner of choice (and their partner is also registered with them). Remaining individual players will be paired up based on the order of the Texas Standing List. There will be a 24 hour doubles pairing period after the entry deadline for players to correct any errors in their doubles registration.

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.
