The tournament will be following Lee County Parks social distancing guidelines. Please read notes below.
|
The tournament will:
* Make every effort to stagger match start times
so players are not gathering in groups to check in. * Take each player’s temperature before the
first match using a touchless thermometer. * Tournament Director and USTA officials will
wear face covering throughout the weekend. * Provide 4 new balls per match with 2 each of
different numbers so players can use separate balls. * Provide disinfectant wipes for players to
clean their hands and racquets before and after each match. * Spray scorecards with disinfectant after each
match. * Have limited bottled water and bottled
Gatorade available, if needed.
|
Players are asked to
* Wear masks/face coverings before and after
matches. Adults are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings, too. * Use scorecard green or yellow movable pieces
that you will be assigned for the match during the coin toss to start the match.
Use your racquets to change the score. * Bring your own water and ice. * Bring a foldable chair to use on the courts on
changeover. Some of the courts have one small bench but they don't meet
social distancing requirements and will be roped off for seating. * Encourage parents and spectators to remain in their
air-conditioned vehicles during matches. Parents are allowed to watch a match from behind the outside fence next to the court as long as 6-foot social distancing is maintained. 6-foot
markings or other indicators will be made on the ground and bleachers to help
maintain Lee County Parks and CDC guidelines for social distancing.
·* Be patient throughout the weekend.

TIPS FOR PLAYERS
1-Introduce
yourself to your opponent. 2-Call
the balls & score out loud throughout the match. Your parents or other
watching can’t help you with the score. 3-Before
serving, be sure that your opponent is ready to play. 4-Be courteous. Talk quietly.
Don’t walk across the back of another court to get a ball until the players
finish the point. 5-Keep
a positive attitude in the game. Don’t stall, pout or complain. Never throw
your racquet. 6-No
cell phones are allowed on the court. 7-Have
a good match! Don’t forget to report the score, give the
balls back and find out your next match time.
|
TIPS FOR PARENTS
1-Parents
must not talk to players during the match. 2-No
player may receive any form of coaching by any person while the match is in
progress. Coaching is allowed between the 2nd set and match tiebreak
but the player cannot leave the court. 3-No
abusive behavior is permitted toward a tournament official or player by
parents, relatives, coaches, or other persons associated with the player. 4-Accept the players’ line
calls, whether you believe they are correct or not. Clap for good shots on both sides and be
particularly careful not to clap for mistakes (e.g. double faults). 5-Parents
should enjoy the company of other parents and support all players. 6-Let
your child play the match and have fun. 7-Enjoy
the match!
