Due to the situation surrounding COVID-19, USTA Southern has canceled all Southern Level 1 and Level 2 events scheduled to be held now through August 31st.

SOCIAL DISTANCING AND MASKS AT TOURNAMENTS
While at tournaments, please maintain a distance of 6 ft between yourself and people who don’t live in your household. Also, everyone should wear a mask at tournaments when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.

For the safety of all Tournament players, parents, coaches and staff we will NOT be using a physical tournament desk where social gathering is most common. We instead will be using Match Tennis App’s Virtual Tournament Desk to help facilitate CDC guidelines for social distancing. NO DOUBLES FOR THIS YEAR'S EVENT
Please be aware that players should not register for
doubles as all age divisions of the 2020 Southern Closed Championships will now
not offer doubles in order to follow USTA &
Southern guidelines for player safety. If you have already registered,
you will not be charged.

EVENTS AND SIZE OF DRAW
Singles: Boys' and Girls' singles 160 draw with Feed-in championship through quarterfinals and playoff matches for 3/4 places. Play in the FIC is mandatory. Semifinal losers in the main draw are required to play the 3/4 playoff match. The Singles official draw will be made Monday, July 27. The draw will be posted online Tuesday evening, July 28. Reminder that there will be no doubles this year. NO INFORMATION ABOUT THE DRAW WILL BE GIVEN BY PHONE.

FACILITY/SAFETY PROCEDURES.
Due to the ongoing concerns of COVID-19, tournaments and the people who participate in them will need to follow the Arkansas Department of Health’s Directive for Community and School Sponsored Team Sports. Please click on the link above to access the State Directives.
This includes: · Face coverings are required for all persons present, except for children under 10 years of age, who are exempt. For outdoor venues, once attendees are seated and maintaining 6 feet physical distance from others, face coverings may be removed. However, if moving around where social distancing is not achievable, such as in food and beverage areas, or any area where there is confinement such that 6 feet distancing cannot be maintained, the face covering must be put back in place. o Athletes, Coaches, and Officials may be without face covering during active play.
Facility Procedures · The tournament desk will be in the Burns Park tournament building, but players will not be allowed in the room (only the TD, trainer, Official on break, and the racquet stringer). · The bathrooms will be open. · Bring your own ice and water. · People will not be allowed to sit on the bleachers. Spectators must bring their own chairs. There will be plenty of room for them to do so. Players are expected to bring no more than two people per match to the facility. · If we are to go into a rain delay, players will be asked to go to their cars and report their current scores to the Tournament Referee through text messaging. NEED A WARM-UP?
IF YOU NEED AN INDIVIDUAL WARM-UP, PLEASE CALL RAUL BERMUDEZ AT 501-766-1119. THE BACK UP NUMBER IS 501-247-9792. HE WILL GET YOU SIGNED UP WITH EITHER HIMSELF OR ONE OF HIS ASSISTANTS. INDIVIDUAL WARM-UP COST IS $25 PER HALF HOUR. RAUL WILL LET YOU KNOW WHERE THE WARM-UP WILL BE. IT WILL DEPEND ON YOUR REQUESTED TIME.

STRINGING
ALL STRINGING WILL BE DONE AT REBSAMEN TENNIS CENTER. WE WILL HAVE AT LEAST 2 STRINGERS AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES AT REBSAMEN FROM FRIDAY THROUGH MOST OF THE WEEK. THE REBSAMEN PHONE NUMBER IS 501-664-0736, THE AFTER HOURS STRINGER NUMBER IS 501-351-4120.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES PROHIBITED ON COURT
Players may not use electronic devises on court that are designed for communication (cell phones, etc.) or data storage/display (pocket notebook, rolodex, word processor, etc.). Use of these devices will result in immediate code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct. (A device that is in the "ON" mode constitutes use.) Notes and printed materials brought on court for reference with a player are permitted.

We will be using the Wilson US Open ball for all matches.

Thursday.
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, July 14, 2020 3:00:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
