WELCOME TO THE 42ND ANNUAL APPLE OPEN!

The Community Tennis Association of Henderson County welcomes all tournament players, friends and family to a fun, competitive tournament. All participants will get a free shirt and food. Awards will be given out in each division for Champion, Finalist and Consolation Draw Champion.

This is also the main fundraiser for the CTA. Please show your support by playing, purchasing a raffle ticket or volunteering for one of the many programs the CTA participates in!

TOURNAMENT SITES

This tournament is being played in three different locations. The host site is Hendersonville Racquet Club (HRC), 88 Oak Creek Ln, Hendersonville, NC 28739. All players need to check in at this site regardless of play location to receive their t-shirt and meal.

The two satellite locations are Kenmure Country Club (KCC), 100 Clubhouse Dr., Flat Rock, NC 28731 and Hendersonville Country Club (HCC), 1860 Hebron Rd., Hendersonville, NC 28739.

All play will be on clay courts except in case of inclement weather, then play could be on indoor or outdoor hard courts with possible shortened scoring formats if needed.

FOOD

Lunch will be provided on Saturday to all players from 11:30 AM -1:30 pm AT HRC ONLY. Other food will be available (bagels, fruit, etc.) throughout the tournament for players at HRC. Water and light snacks will be available at the satellite locations.

RAFFLE TICKETS AVAILABLE UNTIL 3 PM SUNDAY

Three baskets worth over $500 could be yours...but you have to buy a raffle ticket for your chance! $5/ticket or $20/5 tickets. You can't win if you don't play. Get your tickets at the HRC clubhouse before 3pm Sunday. All proceeds benefit the Community Tennis Association of Henderson County.

Notes

1. ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A NTRP RATING TO PLAY IN THIS TOURNAMENT
All players need to have an NTRP rating prior to playing this tournament. If you do not have a rating, you can self-rate yourself. All junior players can only enter Open divisions.

2. COMBO MIXED DOUBLES ELIGIBILITY
Mixed Combo 5.0-9.0 doubles with the players combined ratings not exceeding the combined NTRP level and with no more than ONE (1) point difference in players NTRP ratings.

3. FORMAT AND SCORING
Matches could start as early as 2 pm Friday, depending on the scheduling requirements of the tournament. If you are playing two divisions expect to play Friday! The format for all divisions is FMLC (First Match Losers Consolation) or RR (Round Robin). All matches will play a 10-point match tiebreaker instead of a 3rd set. In case of inclement weather, scoring may be changed to short sets, no-ads, pro sets, or eliminating back draw. All matches have to be complete by Sunday.

4. PLAYER'S RESPONSIBILITY
It is the PLAYER'S responsibility to know their next match time and location and show up in a timely manner. Check the website often for updated match times or weather issues. PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN FOR EACH MATCH 30 MINUTES PRIOR TO ITS SCHEDULED START TIME. USTA RULES WILL BE ENFORCED FOR LATENESS.

5. SEEDING
This tournament's seeding will be done in accordance with USTA Regulations. They will be compiled and examined by the Head Referee, Tournament Director, and members of the Tournament Committee. Factors to consider in seeding (taken from "USTA Friend at Court"): Seedings merely represent the Committee's subjective ratings of the various players' chances of winning the tournament. These ratings may not be based on whim, caprice, or hunches, but instead shall be justified by a reasonable amount of factual evidence, including, but not limited to, rankings, current records, types of surface, and particularly head-to-head encounters. Two outstanding doubles players playing together for the first time should be considered for a place on the seeded list. The rankings list used is the the most current NC Standings List.

6. WITHDRAWALS
If you need to withdraw before entries close, you must do so online. Click on "Edit Registration," then "Withdraw." You will need your original confirmation number. All withdrawals after "Entries Close" must be sent BOTH in writing via email (to the Tournament Director's address above) AND by phone to the tournament site. Players withdrawing after the tournament deadline will not be refunded the entry fee.

7. LIMITED DRAWS/EVENTS AND SELECTION PROCESS
Limited Draws/Events: Draws may be limited in some divisions. A player may enter up to 2 divisions. Selection Process: The top players applying from the USTA/NC most current standings list will be selected into the draw. The names of players who have been selected will appear as "Competitors."

Messages

Arrival Time: Please arrive 30 minutes before scheduled match time. After checking in stay within earshot of the tournament desk.

All players should select T Shirt size when registering and will receive it at check in at HRC. Please note we will have Ladies and Men's shirts, so select your size accordingly. You will be given the shirt you ordered. If desiring another size, you can request that starting Sunday morning.

Awards: Awards will be given to all division winners, finalists, and consolation draw winners.

Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, September 8, 2019 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
