DOUBLES REGISTRATION:
A very important change to note is the correct way to register for doubles online, which will be strictly enforced in 2019 for Doubles Only Champ Major Zones . Players may register with or without a partner. Players registered as individuals will be paired by the tournament based on their Champs Standing List position, if a partner is available. Those who register with a partner must indicate their partner through the online registration system before the entry deadline. Players will need to correctly identify their doubles partner during their initial registration process or they may go back later, prior to the entry deadline, and “Edit Registration” to indicate their partner of choice. Correct doubles registration is the player’s responsibility. Immediately after registering, players need to check the Applicant List to ensure they are registered with their partner of choice (and their partner is also registered with them).

FORMAT:
Format for the Main Draw is two-out-of-three sets, with a deciding
10-point match tie-break, regular (ad) scoring through the Quarter Finals. There

Finals matches will play a full two-out-of-three set, regular (ad) scoring,
mandatory 10 minute rest period and players may receive
coaching. Note: The two-hour recovery rule will not apply to doubles
matches.
Weather condition may alter the format.
Consolation will play two-out-of-three sets, with a deciding 10-point
match tiebreak, regular (ad) scoring. There is a mandatory three-minute break
and players may receive coaching.
Consolation will use the "First Off" method for determining

HOW IS SEEDING DETERMINED?
The seeding for doubles is based on the current Champs Standing List (rank position, not points) in each age group. The standing of both players were combined to create a team ranking. For example, if one player is #4 on the standing list and another player is #28, their combined ranking is 32. Teams are placed in order based on this combined ranking. The lower the total ranking, the higher the seeding.Ties are broken by having the highest ranked individual player's team receiving the higher seed.

Excessive Overrule Guideline: The USTA Texas Officials Committee along with the Competitive Department has established a guideline in reference to excessive overrules as clarified in the Friend at Court. This guideline states "Once a player has been overruled for a second time in a match, they will be cautioned that after another overrule, they will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct under the point penalty system."

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.
|
Registration Confirmation: As a parent or player it is your responsibility to assure registration in the event. Regardless if you register on the website or mobile app after completing the registration you should visit the USTA web driven site and confirm your registration by finding the player in the applicants list. If you select to skip this process please be aware that should any malfunctions of the system occur, players will not be granted late entrance in the event due to a system error.
