USTA/MAS MW Open Hard Court Championships at Montgomery Tennisplex (400pt) ATP/WTA Top 500 Event

Due to continuing rain and indoor back-up availability, all Men's matches scheduled for today, Friday, will play indoors at 9:00PM. The format will be best of two sets, regular scoring, plus a Match Tiebreak (10pt) in lieu of a 3rd set. As four of tonight's matches are "Round of 16" matches, this means the remaining four round of 16 matches (scheduled for Saturday) also will use 2 sets + Match Tiebreak scoring (USTA Reg.III.G.2).

Given the increasingly pessimistic weather forecast, all Women's matches schedules for Friday are rescheduled to 2:00PM as TennisPlex has indoor courts available if needed at that time. No change to Men's start times is being made at this time, but if weather prevents outdoor play Friday then all Men's matches will be played indoors beginning at 9:00PM. Regardless, all matches played Friday will use best of 2 sets + Match Tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set scoring.

Draws and schedules are now published and available for review.

NOTE: The weather forecast is questionable for this weekend, and indoor back-up time is limited and sporadic. Hence, all players must be prepared for changes in match times and days in order to complete the tournament in timely fashion. As published, the draws reflect our hope to finish the tournament on Sunday; but every player must be prepared for the possibility that weather will force one or more rounds of play on Monday, which was the advertised end date.

Avoidance Requests are accepted only from players who have registered to play in the tournament. To be considered, an avoidance request must be received by the Referee (dave_pullen@outlook.com) as soon after registration as possible, and in any event not later than the close of entries. Where a timely filed avoidance cannot be honored, the Referee will contact the requesting player prior to publication of the draws. This will allow the player to decide whether to remain in the tournament, or withdraw and receive full refund of the entry fee (except for the ACTIVE.COM administrative fee, which is never refundable).
