To submit a late entry, send the information listed below (one email from both players) by email to Andrea Norman (email address is above). Late Entries are placed on the Alternate List in the order received.

Payment of the entry fee will be made by check or cash and arrangement for payment will be if and when the entry is accepted - credit cards can no longer be accepted. Players who do not have a partner can continue to submit the information required below and we will use our best efforts to facilitate partnerships; however players without partners are not placed on the alternate list until a partnership is formed.

The first of its kind, this tournament is the only national junior competition devoted solely to doubles. As a Level 1 USTA National Championship, competitors will earn Level 1 National Ranking Points and the top finishers will receive the USTA’s coveted Gold, Silver and Bronze Balls.This year's tournament will again be held at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Florida, the Home of American Tennis, where all matches will be played at one site on Har-Tru green clay courts. During the registration process, please provide your telephone number (cell phone preferred) and email address. Failure to provide your contact information will limit the tournament’s ability to contact you.

Both players comprising a doubles team must enter, select their partner during the registration process, and pay their respective entry fees prior to the entry deadline. You will know this has been done properly when both players appear on the Applicants List with their partner showing in parentheses after the division entered in the Events column. If one player appears with their partner in parentheses, but the other partner does not, the entry is not complete. Failure to follow these instructions will result in an incomplete entry and may prevent the team from being selected.

Players may not enter the tournament without a partner; however, the Tournament Committee will use its best efforts to facilitate players finding partners before the entry deadline. If you’re interested in entering, but do not have a partner, please send Tournament Director Andrea Norman by email (see above for email address) with the following information: name, age division(s) desiring to enter, telephone number, city and state of residence, USTA Membership Number, and a statement giving the Tournament Committee the authority to share your contact information with a prospective partner. We will share this information with others looking for a partner, but it will be the players' responsibility to enter by the entry deadline - the tournament will not randomly pair players with partners.

This tournament has the same policy with respect to entering multiple age divisions as other USTA National Championships. Teams may enter two divisions, but may only play one; however, it is important to understand the selection process and the consequences of entering two divisions. When selection is done, teams will be selected for the 16 division first. Any teams entered in both the 16 and 14 divisions that are not selected for the 16 division will only be eligible for selection and to appear on the alternate list for the 14 division. This means if a team is entered in both divisions and is not selected for the 16s, the team may not be an alternate in the 16s - the team is only eligible for selection or to be an alternate in the 14s, unless the 16 division is not full.

The draw size is limited to 32 teams in each division. A Compass Draw will be played. If the draws are full, all teams will be guaranteed 4 matches; draws with less than 32 teams, or that have a team withdraw after the first round, may result in some teams having fewer than 4 matches. All matches will be the best of 3 Tiebreak sets (unless weather results in the need to shorten the format). Weather permitting, two rounds will be played on Day 1/Thursday, two rounds on Day 2/Friday. On Day 3/Saturday, only those teams advancing to the final rounds of the 9 points of each draw in the compass will be played. Please note that irregardless of the win/loss record going into the last match on Friday, all teams that win their last match on Friday will play in a consolation final match on Saturday. Last matches are scheduled to start at 11:00 am on Day 3/Saturday - please plan your travel plans accordingly.

Teams shall be selected for each division as follows:
1. Up to one team with a timely entry that has been endorsed by each of the 17 Sectional Associations (up to 17 total teams) will be selected. Each Sectional Association determines the method of endorsement and must submit the endorsed teams to the Tournament Committee by the entry deadline. Please note that not all Sections endorse teams for the tournament. Contact your Sectional Association for its endorsement policy.
2. Up to 13 teams with timely entries based on the combined standing of the players comprising a doubles team using the most recently published National Doubles Seeding List of the division of the event. We anticipate this list will be published on Wednesday, July 26th. (For example, if Player A holds the #1 standing and Player B holds the #10 standing, the Team of A&B would have the combined standing of 11; for the purposes of determining the combined standing of a team when one or both players has no standing in the division, such players shall be assigned a standing equal to one less than the lowest player on the list.) The National Doubles Seeding List only includes ranking points from a player’s best 6 doubles results during the previous 12-month period. These lists can be located using the TennisLink Find a Ranking search function.
3. Up to 2 teams awarded wild cards by the Tournament Committee. See Wild Card Application below.
4. If fewer than 2 wild cards are awarded or if not all Sections have an endorsed team, the Tournament Committee will fill the remaining spots in the draw with teams from the National Doubles Seeding List used to accept teams under step #2, using the same procedure described in step #2.
5. The Tournament Committee shall prepare an alternate list of those teams not accepted into the draw in the order determined by using the same method and list described in step #2. Late entrants shall be placed on the alternate list in the order received after timely entries. Late entries received at the same time shall be ordered by lot.

Up to 2 wild cards per division may be awarded for the USTA National Doubles Championships. To guarantee consideration for a wild card, a team must submit a wild card application by the tournament entry deadline. Please note the application deadline: unlike other USTA National Championships that have a wild card application deadline 5 days following the entry deadline, the wild card application deadline for this tournament is the same as the entry deadline. At the time entries close, no player may be entered in this tournament and another tournament that has one or more overlapping dates (including the dates of the qualifier) without prior written approval of the Tournament Committees of both tournaments.

Concurrent Entry Into Prince George County International Hard Court Junior Tennis Championships WILL NOT Be Approved. No player may enter this tournament and the concurrent Prince George County International Hard Court Junior Tennis Championships and requests to do so will not be approved. The entry deadline for the International Hard Courts is on or about Tuesday, July 24th and the players selected for the main draw and the qualifier for that tournament will be posted prior to the July 26th entry deadline for this tournament.
• Players who are entered in this tournament who are selected for the International Hard Courts must withdraw from this tournament prior to the July 26th entry deadline for this tournament to avoid being assessed a suspension points for withdrawing to play in another tournament.• Players who apply for and receive wild cards for the main draw or qualifier for the International Hard Courts and who subsequently withdraw from this tournament will be assessed suspension points for withdrawing to play in another tournament.

Concurrent Entry Into USTA Florida Level 4 "Boys 12 - 18" Summer Smash Championships WILL NOT Be Approved. The final day of this tournament overlaps with the first day of the USTA Florida Level 4 “Boys 12-18” Summer Smash Championships in Delray Beach. No player may enter this tournament and the concurrent Summer Smash and requests to do so will not be approved. Entries for this tournament close on July 26th and entries close for the Summer Smash on August 12th.
• Players who are accepted into this tournament and withdraw to then enter the Summer Smash will be assessed 4 suspension points.'
• Players who are discovered to be accepted into both tournaments after entries close will be assessed 5 suspension points.
**PLEASE REVIEW THE FLORIDA AND NATIONAL POINT TABLES TO DETERMINE WHICH TOURNAMENT TO ENTER. This is a National Level 1 Doubles Tournament that earns its winner 3,000 National Doubles Ranking Points. It is also a and Florida Level 1 Doubles Tournament that earns its winner 5,000 Florida Doubles Ranking Points. In the National Combined Ranking, 15% of the points earned count toward the combined National standing if it is among a players best 6 doubles tournament results. In the Florida Combined Ranking, 25% of the points earned count toward the combined Florida ranking if it is among the players best 4 national doubles tournament results. • 1,250 combined Florida Ranking Points (25% of 5,000)

The teams selected will be published to the “Competitors” Tab on this website on or about Saturday, July 28th. Teams not selected will be published to the “Alternates” Tab on this website at the same time. As soon as possible thereafter, an ordered list of alternate teams will be published to the top of this “Important Info” Tab. The ordered Alternate List will be used to replace teams that withdraw from the tournament.

An Onsite Alternate is a team that is on site at the USTA National Campus in hope of getting into the tournament. All such teams who intend to be Onsite Alternates are highly encouraged to participate in the tournament registration process on August 22rd so that we know you are on site. You are welcome to attend the welcome dinner, but will only receive the tournament gift if you are accepted. Replacement of withdrawing teams continues as described above; however identifying yourself as an Onsite Alternate will allow you to receive important tournament information and instruction on how to be available if an opening occurs in the draw at the last minute.

Any team that misses the online entry deadline and wants to be considered for late entry must email Andrea Norman (contact information is at the top of this page) with the request and include both players' current USTA membership numbers, telephone numbers (cell phone numbers preferred) and t-shirt size. Late entries are placed at the bottom of the Alternate List in the order received (unless awarded a wild card). Late entries received at the same time are ordered by lot. Should a late entry be accepted into the draw, payment of the entry fee will be made no later than the Mandatory Tournament Registration.

It is solely a player’s responsibility to communicate to his or her partner the decision to withdraw.

Withdrawal Policy When There are No Alternate Teams: In events where there are no alternate teams, a player will be permitted to replace their withdrawing partner, except that the withdrawal must not invalidate the seedings.

Withdrawal Policy When There is an Alternate List: Players enter this tournament as a team, and are either selected as a team or are placed on the alternate list as a team. The withdrawal of one player is deemed to be the withdrawal of the team; however after entries close a player will be given a limited amount of time to find a replacement partner so long as the combined standing of the new team is greater than or equal to that of the first alternate team. If the draw has already been made, the new team must not invalidate the seedings.

When a player withdraws after entries close, the remaining partner must immediately contact Tournament Director Andrea Norman to make arrangements for a period of time determined by the Tournament Director to find a replacement partner. The time permitted will depend on the proximity to the start of the tournament. The withdrawing player must follow the instructions regarding written notification of a withdrawal.

Prior to entries closing, a player may withdraw by clicking on the "Withdrawal" link that is in the Edit Registration box on the right of this page where the tournament notes start. Entry fees are not charged until after entries close and selection is done, therefore no entry fee refund is required because nothing has been paid.

Players must enter as a team and the withdrawal of one player makes the other player ineligible for selection. It is solely the responsibility of the players comprising a team to communicate with each other about a withdrawal of one partner taking place prior to entries closing so that the remaining player may find another partner.

Immediately contact Andrea Norman (contact information is at the top of this page) if you need to withdraw from the tournament after entries close. If the withdrawal is due to a injury or illness, the USTA Regulations require the injured or ill player to submit written verification from a medical professional before the end of the day on August 25th. A trainer will be on site to see players needing to withdraw during the tournament and will be able to provide the requisite written verification. If the withdrawal is due to a personal circumstance, the player must submit a written description of the situation no later than the end of the day on August 25th and the Referee shall determine whether the situation is a personal circumstance. Written verification can be emailed or faxed to Andrea Norman (see contact information above).

All players will be required to submit a signed Release & Waiver Form before competing in the tournament. All selected players will be sent a copy of the Release & Waiver Form shortly after selection with instructions on how to complete and submit it. Information on if and how inclement weather affects the tournament schedule will be posted to this website as court conditions change and information will also be Tweeted - see information below to follow us on Twitter. Although the USTA National Campus has 6 indoor courts, their usage by this tournament, even in the event of inclement weather, is VERY limited.

The weather is anticipated to be hot and humid and all players should take the necessary steps to properly hydrate before arriving in Orlando and during their stay. Historical averages put August temperature highs at 88ºF and lows at 72ºF. Average August humidity is 71%.

Teams shall be seeded in the order of their combined standings using the most recently published National Doubles Seeding List; ITF rankings, ATP/WTA rankings, and USTA standings in the next-younger division may also be considered. This is the same method used for selecting teams, except that seeding allows for consideration of ITF rankings and USTA standings in the next-younger division, teams may be moved within major groups (1-4, 5-8) due to direct wins if the teams are separated by fewer than 100 ranking points, and teams may be moved between major groups due to direct wins if teams are separated by fewer than 50 ranking points.

It is anticipated that the draw will take place at the home of Tournament Director Andrea Norman on or about Friday, August 17th. For further information, contact Andrea Norman.

Wilson is the official provider of tennis balls for USTA Junior National Championships. Each match will be played with three Wilson Championship Regular Duty tennis balls. New balls will be provided if a match goes to a 3rd set.

Stringing services will be available at the USTA National Campus.

All players are required to wear appropriate tennis attire and dress in a manner consistent with being a participant a USTA Junior National Championship. Compression shorts, sports bras, shirts with inappropriate language, attire that is inappropriately revealing, shoes not designed for tennis, and any attire that is recreational and not tennis-oriented is not acceptable. T-shirts may not be worn on Saturday. Players not meeting the dress code may be asked to change prior to going on the court.

Practice Courts - Wednesday, August 22:
Practice Courts may be reserved in 1-hour blocks between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm. All practice courts will have the Har-Tru clay court surface. If a player makes more than one request, the last request received will be the request considered. No later than the end of the day on Saturday, August 18th, click on the link that follows to request a practice time. Up to 4 choices may be submitted, in preference order. Assignments will be made on a first come, first served basis and announced by Monday, August 20th. During high-demand request times, two teams may be assigned to a court. If demand is high, teams must share a court. The hard courts at the USTA National Campus are NOT available for practice at any time.

• Beginning at 9:00 am, approximately 12 Har-Tru practice courts will be available a the USTA National Campus.

Detailed information on signing up for Practice Courts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be available at Tournament Registration on Wednesday.

Practice Court Policies:
• Only the designated HarTru courts shall be used for practice at the USTA National Campus. No other court courts (including the hard courts) may be used.
• Courts are available on a first come, first served basis.
• During high demand times, courts are to have four “Tournament Players” to a court. Coaches, parents, players not in the draw, and other tournament guests are NOT considered “Tournament Players.”
• Courts are available in half-hour blocks. Please surrender your court if you have had use of it for a full half hour and players are waiting to get on.
• Beginning at 7:30 am on Thursday and Friday morning of tournament play, priority for a practice court will be given to teams who have 8:00 am start times; beginning at 8:30 am on Saturday morning of the final day of play, priority for a practice court will be given to teams who have 9:00 am start times.
• Please be courteous to other players, parents, and coaches. Unsportsmanlike conduct should be reported and is subject to penalty under the USTA Suspension Point System.

Players must register for the tournament on August 22nd between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm at the USTA National Campus. There will be no Mandatory Player Meeting; however important information on tournament play and policies will be included in the player packets and members of the Tournament Committee will be available to answer questions about play and policies during Registration. Additional information will be provided to accepted players on activities that will be taken place during Registration.
Players unable to come to Registration must contact Andrea Norman. If you do not register and we are unable to locate you using the contact information provided when entering, we will replace you with an alternate.

The Courtyard Orlando Lake Nona and the Residence Inn Orlando Lake Nona are the official hotels of the USTA National Doubles Championships. The hotels are part of the same property and share a lobby, restaurant and complementary breakfast area. Also, both hotels have onsite laundry facilities.
