There are two address above for Middle Creek School Park, depending on what device you use for navigation.Middle Creek School Park is at least 25-30 minutes from the Tennis Park. Please allow plenty of time to get to that site. It is located off of Westlake Rd. just past Middle Creek Park Ave.

Player Check-in
Tournament check in begins on Saturday at 7:30 am and will be available at the Cary Tennis Park throughout the week of the event. There is NOT a mandatory check in before your match. Draws will be posted by noon on Thursday! Reminder that seeded players do not start play until Sunday. Doubles play starts Sunday, not before 1:30 pm.
MEDICAL RELEASE WAIVER - Bring your medical release waiver to the site of your first match and turn it in when you check in for play. That means if your first match is not at the Cary Tennis Park, you can go directly to your site with your waiver and play your match. Then, you can check in at the Cary Tennis Park at your leisure to get your player packet.

Parent Meetings about New Southern Points Chart for 2019
On Saturday and Sunday Maria Cercone from the Southern office will be here to discuss the new Southern Points Chart for 2019. The meetings will take place at 5 pm both days in the covered facility at the Cary Tennis Park. Everyone is welcome to attended either meeting!

Warm-up Courts
This weekend warm-up courts will be available at the match sites until matches start at 8:30 am. Annie Jones Park and R.S. Dunham Park will have courts available to the public and can be used for warm-ups throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. Please keep in mind there is no guarantee a court will be available at these sites as they are first come, first serve and Town of Cary Teaching staff will be using courts 2 and 3 at Dunham Park.
The parks listed above are the approved warm-up sites. Please do not trespass on any private or neighborhood courts that are not open to the public.

PARKING
Overflow parking is available across the street at the Green Hope Elementary School parking lot.
*The drop off circle in front of the Cary Tennis Park is for drop off only. You may not park in the drop off circle!

Singles Format
All Singles Play for 12s is 2 out 3 sets with a 10 pt tiebreak for the 3rd set.

Withdrawals
June 3 or before-->Withdraw online. June 4 or later-->All withdrawals should be emailed to the tournament director's email listed above. Withdrawals received after June 3, 11:59pm are NOT eligible for a refund.

Medical Release Waiver
USTA requires a medical release SIGNED BY THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN for every player. This form must be presented at the time of the tournament registration. Players are not allowed on the court without this release.

Wild Card Procedure
Up to four
(4) Wild Cards will be approved for the boys and girls 12 – 18 divisions. A player may apply for a Wild Card for
whatever reason; injury, illness, or personal circumstance. Please remember, there are only up to four
Wild Cards given per division, and no guarantees all four will be used.
The Wild
Card applications will have to be submitted before 5:00 PM EST, the morning
after the registration deadline. In 2018, that will be Monday, June 4th. The applications will be reviewed by a
committee consisting of the USTA Southern Player Development Director, Chairman
of Southern Junior Competition Committee, the tournament director, and one
Junior Competition Committee members (selected by the Chairman).

Birth Certificates/Proof of Citizenship
All players must have a Birth Certificate on file in the Southern office for proof of US Citizenship. Green Cards will be accepted. Passports are not accepted. This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S. Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to USTA Regulation III.A.2a. For questions regarding if your player’s Birth Certificate is on file, or to submit a Birth Certificate, email birthcertificates@sta.usta.com and be sure to include the players’ name, USTA number, and current City/State. New Draw Format for 12s
The Draw format is a 256 draw with Block Seeding and a
Feed in Consolation through the quarterfinals. 160 players will be accepted.
Playoff for 1-6th place.

Late Entry Fee
Any players who register late for the Southern Closed event will be charged a late entry fee of $25.
